So fat Donald gets up at his Press Conference/Political Rally every day and blabs about what he wants the nation to do and, in his small mind, how much, we have actually done. His favorite boast right now has to do with testing and how we have done more testing than any other nation. I don’t know if that’s true, but even if it is, how many is not the criteria. How many compared to the total population is the criteria. For example we test about 12.1 people per 1000 residents. Italy tests over 24 people per 1000 residents. So does Germany. We are way down on that list, so even when Trump makes a semi-true statement, he lies.
Who has really dealt best with the virus? Many say South Korea but how about Greece? Greece, which is about the size of Italy, France, Germany, etc., has suffered only 99 deaths so far and has only a little over 2000 cases. Is that possible? You bet your bippy it is and here’s why.
The virus should have ravaged Greece. It’s a huge tourist destination, it’s population is the second oldest in Europe behind Italy, its healthcare system is a joke with only 5.2 hospital beds per 100,000 people as opposed to Germany’s 29.5 beds per 100,000. It’s economy is down 40% from 2009 and everything else points to eminent disaster and just to make matters worse, as they usually do, the Greek Orthodox church announced that the virus could not be transmitted by communion.
So what happened? They moved their collective ass. In late February before there was even one recorded death they closed down most public gatherings and by March 13 they had closed down just about everything in the country. At that point in time Donald Trump was still blabbering about 15 deaths and how that figure was soon to be zero. The Greeks just didn’t believe in Trump’s magic.
Understanding that they had a crippled healthcare system, that would never be able to cope with the virus, the Greeks moved to get ahead of the problem. On March 22 when they had only 624 confirmed cases and 15 deaths, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis locked down the entire country. That’s one week after Trump told the United States that everything was okay and the whole thing was a hoax. The Greek government, on the other hand, began TV broadcasts telling its citizens that everything wasn’t okay, that the shit had actually hit the fan and they better pay attention if they wanted to live.
And while the Right Wing, gun toting crazies in Michigan and the Carolinas were demanding their God given right to die of this awful disease, the Greeks were listening to their scientifically informed Prime Minister and doing everything they could to keep themselves and their loved ones alive. I think this is called “a case in point.”
Of course there’s something else that exists in Greek society that seems to have slipped away from us Americans. It’s a sense of duty or responsibility. There are a wide swath of Americans who currently think only about themselves and what they want. They seem to have no concept of the good of the whole, but only their own selfish desires. The Greeks on the other hand would never forgive themselves if they infected a loved one or even a stranger. Our Michigan and Carolina contemporaries couldn’t care less.
So before any more of our citizens emulate the moronic Governor of Georgia or our tragically conflicted egomaniac of a President, why don’t we sit down and try to think this out. If you are trying to open everything up before we are medically ready, why are you doing it? Do you think it will help us economically to have larger numbers of Americans die than would happen if we remained closed down until it is scientifically safe? Or is it that you’re just bored and want to get away from your wife and kids so much you are willing to put them at risk of an awful death? Maybe it’s because you, like the idiot in the Oval Office, just don’t believe we’re in the middle of a Pandemic. If that’s the case why do you think those 56,000 people died? Trump said 15 and out. Do you still listen to him? If so, why? The history of his pronouncements brands him as either a gross liar or an idiot. Take your pick but either choice says don’t listen to this guy. He will bury you.

And of course, while most of the country is worried about having enough healthcare workers to serve the needs of the virus, Trump has been getting an anti-immigration bill together that will keep 15% of our healthcare workers out of the country. That’s right! At a time when we are literally dying for lack of help in our hospitals, this dumb asshole wants to cut the number of available doctors, nurses and various medical categories by keeping them out of the country. Only Trump could possibly be that wrong and that small minded.
And now, even as we watched on Wednesday afternoon when the head of CDC, Robert Redfield announced that we would be facing a second round of the virus this fall, Trump the retard, comes out on stage and brimming with his own brand of scientific knowledge, refutes what Redfield just warned us about.
Why the hell can’t this moronic asshole just keep his mouth shut?
Then after refuting Redfield he goes on to tell us about all the stuff he’s done that he hasn’t. The reporters sitting in front of him are saying out loud that he’s lying. But he just blunders ahead, a new lie with every sentence. He makes the long jump from the millions of tests that he has made available but that no one seems able to find, to the thousands of ventilators he is about to hand over to whoever needs them but which somehow no one can trace. Everyone knows he is operating in a fantasy world, but that doesn’t keep him from claiming the glory for all that he, in his own twisted mind, thinks he is doing for the nation.
But lying about just about everything on the board just isn’t enough for Trump. After wrongly claiming that there was no pandemic until we were ass deep in dead bodies, he’s now claiming that there will be no new surge in the fall. Of course he doesn’t base this on anything but his gut, the same gut that got us far behind in dealing with the most deadly virus ever dealt with in this century.
On Wednesday, this buffoon, who can’t read and refuses to listen to anyone who says anything he doesn’t want to hear, announced on his daily ego trip on the tube that head of the CDC, Robert Redfield had been misquoted when he said we could expect a resurgence in the fall. Fortunately, Redfield refused to play and when questioned firmly stated that he had not been misquoted, that there would definitely be resurgence in the fall. It was kind of a fun piece of tape with Trump fuming in the background.
Of course all this unveiled against a background of typical Trump backstabbing and the ignorance of his followers. For weeks Trump has been babbling about opening up the country again. He is terrified that those few followers left will finally recognize that the stock market, his one electable point,
will go south and he’ll get destroyed in November. Well, the virus took care of that by sending the Markets into a full out crash dive. Desperate to fix that, Trump has been telling anyone dumb enough to listen, that we should open everything up as fast as possible. He finally found his moron in Georgia Governor Kemp.
This week Kemp ordered his state to open up. Fortunately a lot of Georgians are smarter than their governor so they ignored him. Unfortunately just as many Georgians are as dumb as their governor so they did not and are now passing germs around at an amazing rate. If they survive, some of them will have jobs to go back to.
But in the meantime, Trump has been advised by anyone in the administration with a modicum of intelligence that his stance on reopening is a disaster looking to happen, so on Thursday he went on Twitter and reneged on his whole, “open the country” plan, thereby exposing Kemp for the fool he is and throwing him under the bus. This is nothing new for Trump. He saw a possible danger in his earlier edict, saw the possibility of it coming back and biting him in the ass, so he created deniability. He has betrayed so many people and countries that it’s a miracle anyone even comes close to listening to him, And it won’t stop. He will continue to betray anyone and everyone, regardless of the situation, simply because that is who Trump is.
Why did he do it in this case? Probably a case of one of a sycophant hinting that if the reopening of Georgia led to an explosion of the virus, he would be held responsible and we all know that Trump wants all the praise but none of the responsibility. It’s really hard to believe this terminal sleaze is actually trying to run the country.

So, as if there wasn’t enough insanity coming out of the Oval Office, the President is now telling people that they should be injecting disinfectants into our bodies to fight the virus. Great idea Donald! Why don’t you try it first? On the other hand, if you have somehow recovered from your latest attack of stupid, maybe you’ve figured out it wasn’t a really great idea.
As for your “day after” reconsideration, when you told us that you were speaking sarcastically, that seems to indicate you even know what sarcasm is, which is clearly dubious. But there has been a suggestion running around that you should bathe nightly in a combination of Lysol and Clorox. It may not protect you from the virus but there’s an even chance it can get your skin color back to normal.
