Lindsey Graham was recently on Meet the Press lauding the president for his possibly successful attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He worked so hard, I began to wonder how far he’d really go for a couple of hours of free greens fees. But he did bring some light on an important disagreement regarding the base reason for the bombing. Trump sticks to his own theory that we aren’t invading Iran, only stopping their ability to develop a functioning nuclear weapon. Trump claims we have no desire to create regime change only to deprive the Iranians of the option of dropping a nuclear bomb. When you step away from Trumpian logic, it seems pretty clear that if you really want to stop the Iranian’s ability to have a bomb, you have to eliminate this regime because they are, and have been for forty years, wholly dedicated to the complete destruction of Israel, and there doesn’t appear to be any way they can accomplish that without a nuclear weapon.
Just to make my point, Iran attacked Israel again right after we hit their nuclear facilities. They didn’t attack us, they attacked Israel.
Look, we aren’t talking here about reasonable logical leadership. These are religious fanatics, driven by nothing but hatred and an unquenchable need to kill Jews. There is no negotiated settlement that will satisfy them, nothing that will allow them to sit back and live peaceful lives, as long as one Jew remains alive. So, if you can’t reason with these fanatics and you can’t satisfy them with any humane solution, you can only kill them, or they will kill you.

Margaret Brennan had Marco Rubio on her show, where she asked any number of pointed questions, which seemed to anger Rubio but also motivated him to express his belief that Iran brought this on themselves through their previous terrorist actions and their development of nuclear possibilities. Rubio was tough to shake and dead-on target with his main contention that Iran was given sixty days by Trump to get their asses to the negotiating table, but they dicked around and used every excuse not to show up, so he gave them a little motivation. Now the question is, did they get the point, or do they still think they can avoid the reality of negotiation and somehow keep from getting stomped on by a bully like Trump?
It appears that Rubio is chomping at the bit to forge ahead.

Donald Trump was interviewed this week on the situation with Iran and its leader and it was really scary. He stumbled and stuttered, mumbled threats, and gave every version of what he could possibly do. What was really amazing was that it basically sounded like a bad Joe Biden imitation, on his worst night. This is what the American people were trying to avoid in trashing Biden before the election and no sooner does Trump hit 79 then he becomes a worse version of what everyone was attacking in Biden. At least Biden had mental control of the situation before he started to lose it. With Trump it’s like he never had any concept of a strategy and now he’s just wandering around in the dark.

The NYC Democratic primary has concluded, and we’re beginning to see why the Dems got their hat handed to them in 2024. The far-left segment of the party, which is very strong in the city, has discovered Zohran Mamdani, a charismatic defective lay-a-bout who has spent a good chunk of his adulthood on the dole and along the way discovered that there is a definite class of voter in NYC who wants to be right there with him. Mamdani’s principal program is a rent freeze, which definitely appeals to a certain breed of New Yorker, but would definitely destroy the housing market in the city. As any semi-cogent reader understands, you cannot freeze rents without freezing the cost of maintaining the properties, and that’s never going to happen because the same people who want to freeze their rent still want higher salaries every year.
Yes, the providers of a good portion of the city’s low-income housing are huge companies that don’t properly maintain their buildings, but there is a significant portion of the affordable housing market that is provided by small owners who have only one or two buildings. Most are barely getting by. Now, with victory in the primaries, Mamdani will feel that he really has a viable program when all he has is a free lunch.

So, Trump finally did it. Did what many thought he would never have the balls to do. And so far, it looks like it might have worked. He bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities and as of the morning after, it looks like he succeeded. Of course, it was the U.S. Military, not the White House stumble bums, who actually brought it off, but so far Trump’s team is handling it okay and doing what needs to be done in the aftermath.
The key to the whole thing is, did we actually destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities for good, or is this just another Trump pipe dream. The president says we did, but we all know how far we can believe him. So, we are left with the big question, how successful were we, really? The other big question is, will Iran do anything about it? Trump was quite clear in his warning to Iran not to retaliate against our troops or facilities in that area. Now we’ll see if they take that warning to heart. This is a nation that has been causing trouble all over the Middle East since 1979. Just about everyone in the world, including Russia and China, would love to see them take the hint and just settle down and try to get along, but their history is about anything but that.
I do believe that even if we don’t have a clear shot at the Ayatollah, Israel does, and they surely are in a position to take him out if he makes the wrong decision. It’s obvious the Ayatollah believes this, too, as it seems that he has made up a list of successors. Bet these guys were really thrilled to hear they were on the list. What that poor nation really needs is someone to run it who is not a religious fanatic. The Iranian version of the Muslim faith is a true horror. Maybe someone should suggest that during the five prayer stops they take each day, they should, maybe, try praying for something good to happen. I am sure the Iranian people would appreciate it if their priests would stop pushing mass murder as a way to religious fulfillment. The rest of the world certainly would.
It seems that everyone but the administration ass kissers are agreed on the concept that the last thing the Iranians will do is just capitulate. Trump’s little “yes men” are all lined up, agreeing with their boss that the Iranians are through and must kneel quietly in the dust of their cities and beg Donald’s pardon for existing. The smart money says that’s just not going to happen. Hell, they already moved a lot of their junk out of the targets before they were hit. Now all they have to do is move it someplace safe and start building a bomb all over again.
After being the world’s biggest pain in the ass for the last forty years, this religious terrorist isn’t going to change his ways just cause Donald Trump wants him to. There’s only one way out of the dilemma into which Trump has dumped us, and it’s called regime change. The little Trumpeteers can babble all they want about changing Iran’s nuclear policy, but the only way to do that is to change the guy who runs the country… permanently.
