Would you believe it, Tucker Carlson wants us to attack Donald Trump for what everybody has known and admitted for decades, that he is just a lying piece of shit.
Yeah, Tucker, the big phony wants us to pity him because he’s been buying Trump’s bullshit all these years. Does he really expect us to jump on that sinking ship? Probably not, but he is looking for something, because if you’ve followed him at all, you know he always has a failed straight he wants us to fill for him.
The best bet you can expect him to try and sell next is that Trump has sold out the MAGA base and that Tucker will be their new champion. It’s not a bad bet. They need a new champion. Trump, not as stupid as he looks, can see the end of the tunnel and knows it’s time to pick up as many of his chips as he can carry. That means leaving most of the true believers behind, trying to figure out what that strange looking money really is, and if it actually has any value as anything other than ballast.
But what about Tucker? The smart money says he will be running for something in the next election. Sure, he’s always stayed away from candidate-hood, but it’s way past time for him to be jumping in and no one knows it better than him.
If this fantasy really turns out to be factual, why would he get a huge noise machine like Trump pissed off at him before he even starts?
Maybe it’s because Tucker, like much of the smart money, sees the end of the Trump time looming like a giant iceberg off Miami Beach. Impregnable as it looks, it will be gone with a few more days of good weather.

George Stephanopoulos appeared on the show named after him this week figuring that a shooter in the same building as the president would give him the audience he thinks he deserves, but that news turned out to be a washout and the discussion quickly turned to Trump’s inability to solve the war with Iran. That is, of course, the big problem right now because it touches on our military, our economic position, and the world economy.
Trump’s problem is he started a war without getting the home fans on his side. There was no call to “Get ‘em for the good old US of A” or “Win one for the Gipper.”
People are struggling to feed their kids and pay the medical bills. They just don’t give a shit about Iranian terrorism.
Trump had to sell the nuclear threat before he jumped in and he didn’t. These are people who listen to their God as interpreted by their religious leaders and if one of them says “God says do it,” it’s all over. Now he’s stuck with an international negotiation being run by a couple of real estate brokers who don’t know squat about what’s going on or how to deal with it. They were selected because Trump trusts them to be loyal to him even if they are out-negotiated by the Iranians, who have been doing this forever.
We are faced with a weird problem and that is, how are the Iranians able to shut down Hormuz so easily even though we have been able to decimate their military with one major bombing raid Take away Iran’s ability to shut down the Gulf and the negotiations would progress more quickly and more in our favor. Is keeping Iran from shutting down Hormuz simply a matter of putting troops on the ground along the respective shorelines, and if it is, shouldn’t it be possible to get the nations that Iran is currently attacking to put their troops there, supported by our technology?
Once more Trump has bitten off more than he can chew, but this time it’s stuck in his throat and it’s going to kill him and us if he doesn’t manage to cough it out.

Foreign Policy commentator Samantha Vinograd was a guest on Face the Nation, where Margaret Brennan asked her the big question regarding the assassination attempt at the Press Dinner. “How can this happen?” In fact, it’s the wrong question, because it didn’t happen. The shooter never even got into the same room as the president. He was apprehended almost as soon as he showed himself, thanks to the efficiency of the Secret Service agents guarding the president. That’s their job. That’s why they were there, and they did their job. We shouldn’t be asking how can this happen because it didn’t. Trump is still with us. There’s probably no way to stop nuts from attempting to pull off assassinations. It’s the Secret Service’s job to stop them before they are successful. In this case, they did that.
Why, you may ask, have so many tried to kill Trump? Hard to really tell but try this on and see if it fits.
Donald Trump is a man who ignores whatever he doesn’t want to deal with. To make matters worse, he often gets away with whatever he’s doing, causing anger in ordinary people who follow laws and only cross at the light. These people, law abiding citizens, often deeply resent people like Trump, who put themselves above or outside the law. It seems unfair to them as Trump always seems to be getting away with something. A certain type of person tends to want to make him pay for his failure to “do things the right way.”
Almost every politician interviewed about anything this weekend has pontificated on the explosion of political violence in this country just as they do every time anyone pulls a gun in public. There are over three hundred million people in this country. Three have actually taken a shot at the nation’s most popular target, our president. That’s one in every hundred million people. Not really something to get bent out of shape about.

Yes, economic interests all over the world are upset about Trump starting a war with a nation that is made up of a significant number of religious fanatics. Why? Because its almost impossible to draw them into a logical discussion of a solution. They will follow whatever their mullah says, regardless of logic. That means you can’t have a reasonable discussion or disagree with a Muslim cleric because his decisions are not based on any definable, logical principles but rather simply on what he wants, which magically becomes what God wants.
Right now, it appears that the Muslim God wants Iran to have the means to build nuclear weapons, so that’s off the table. As a matter of fact, so much is off the table that they aren’t even bothering to sit down at it, leaving the Gulf of Hormuz closed and world commerce seriously blocked.
So, the question becomes, do we drop another load of bombs on what’s left of Iran’s military structure, or do we talk Iran’s Middle Eastern enemies into occupying the land points that are strategic locations for opening Hormuz and keeping it that way.
It’s not much, but you have to try everything.
