It’s just that kind of mess. GOP Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was quoted over the weekend as saying that people who attack police get money all the time. Sure, they do, you prime idiot, but that’s when they are assaulted. The people Blanche was talking about had assaulted the Capitol Police on January 6, and many of them had legitimately done time for it. The only reason most of them were walking around without a leash was that Trump had illegitimately pardoned them.
It’s all about this billion-dollar fund that Trump is trying to slide through, that will enable him to give money to the animals who attacked the capital. Even a good portion of Republicans are against it, some of them recovering enough ability to reason that they are able to see the madness in Trump’s latest con. Let’s hope this glimmer of intellectual honesty will help congress rise to a passion of the recognition of potential criminal activity.

The Democrats have done an autopsy on how they handled the disastrous 2024 election and guess what? It doesn’t deal with most of the reasons they lost, which might be the reason they lost, and very well could be the reason they lose again in 2026.Why did they lose? It wasn’t just one thing, it was inflation, it was Biden’s obvious aging and the failure to address it in time, it was the fact that Harris was a black woman. None of these things are dealt with in the autopsy and they had better be right now, if the Democrats want to have any kind of future in this country or the nation wants to have any kind of future on this planet.

So, Iran, which just got its military brains beat out from American and Israeli attacks, has decided to hardline the negotiations that might lead to peace in the Middle East.
Why are they doing this? Maybe because they just don’t see a path to negotiated victory. OK, but there sure in hell aren’t any paths to battleground victory, so what the hell are they going to do?
It’s obvious that Iran doesn’t want to lose their only two power positions, the ability to close the Strait of Hormuz and the possibility of them being able to develop a nuclear weapon. Those are exactly what Trump wants to take from them. It appears that Iran has decided that they are without options at the negotiating table, so they are just stamping their feet and holding their breath, hoping that something will happen somewhere that will alter the picture enough for them to get back in the show. Sure, it’s a long shot, but a long shot is good when you have no knife and no club. The question for Trump is what to do about it. The longer he sits around doing nothing, the worse things get politically back home. If he attacks Iran again, he absolutely has to come up with some kind of victory. If he just sits on his gold toilet, his power inches away by the day, and that’s something he cannot watch happen.
He’s called a major Cabinet Meeting in a panic move, hoping to come up with some brilliant strategy that will solve all his problems, but considering who he has installed in that Cabinet, there’s very little hope that they will come up with anything functional. It’s called “Pigeons coming home to roost.”

Democrat Graham Platner of Maine is running for the Senate and doing a terrible job of it.
We all complain that Trump acts like an asshole and that is indicative of why he is such a disaster in all his decision making. So, you can’t vote for this guy, who is as big an asshole as Trump, just because he’s a Democrat. The Democrats aren’t going to get elected just because they aren’t Republicans. They must show that they understand the problems of the voters and that they have solutions to those problems, or there’s no reason to elect them. Certainly not if they are going to be as stupid and immoral as Trump. We already have one to many of him.
This clown was dumb enough to post his desire to cheat on his wife on various computer sites and then to post pictures of his Nazi tattoos. This guy is too dumb to walk and chew gum, and it behooves the Democratic party to get him off the ballot. The voters they need, the ones that understand they made a mistake by voting or a moron like Trump, aren’t going to make the same mistake again. Unlike Trump, this guy doesn’t have a TV show on which he can fire people who have more on the ball than he does.

Patrick McHenry, former GOP Senator from North Carolina, was in the middle of a debate on the This Week round table, pointing out that Trump is responsible for the big cleanup in DC, but failing to mention that he has put Trump’s picture on every surface larger than a postage stamp.
I have spent my life in and around show biz and consequently have been exposed to some of the most out-of-control egos in the history of mankind, but Trump’s ego is in a sphere all by itself. Chris Christie revealed on the same show that Trump told him that he, Trump, was the second-best president in the history of the nation, only slightly behind Lincoln and far ahead of Washington. Really? What sphere of reality does this fool exist in? And what world do his 30% of voters exist in, that they can watch him mar every surface available with his name and image, even while knowing that they will be removed as soon as he leaves the White House.
Why do I think this. Just look at Riverside Boulevard in Manhattan. It is lined from 72nd Street to 60th St. with luxury apartment buildings for which Trump has always taken credit. Yes, he was involved in their creation and sale, but he never actually owned them. What he did do was take credit for their existence. He also put his name on every one … in huge letters. The names are gone, now, as the tenants demanded as soon as his company sold the buildings off to a Japanese conglomerate. That will happen to all the things he’s currently renaming after himself. Hell, it’s already happened to the Kennedy Center and he’s not even out of office yet.
Interestingly enough, some of the stuff he’s doing is actually beneficial to the city of Washington, but it’s all being lost in the earthquake of his ego.
