Donald Trump proved today, that like all other bullies, he is at heart, a coward. Fox News has announced that Megyn Kelly is going to be one of the moderators on tonight’s GOP debate. Last time out she asked Trump some tough questions. Now Trump doesn’t want any part of her and has announced that he will not take part in the debate if she is one of the moderators. He’s got to be kidding. Here’s a supposedly tough old bully, the guy who kicked sand in Jeb Bush’s face, the same guy who babbles about how he’s gong to break China and push Putin around, the guy who’s going to shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, scared shitless of a woman who he knows but won’t admit is smarter than him. The fat, mop top can whine all he wants, make as many excuses as he and his family can think up, but the bottom line is that Megyn Kelly has him on the ropes and she’s done it without throwing a punch.
The Donald may still be able to bribe, (his principal means of negotiation), Fox News but the fact remains that he is afraid of a girl. Does he think that Putin, the Ayatollah or any other world leaders, are going to only ask questions, to which he already knows the answer?
What Trump wants is softballs, the kind that are lobbed at him by toddies like Morning Joe Scarborough. Joe started out a Trump denier, but as Donald forged to the lead with a series of demagogic rallies and, oh yeah, interviews on the Morning Joe show, Joe has become his principle promoter. Sure Trump has upped Scarborough’s ratings because like the comic who drops his pants and wags his ass at the audience, Trump draws viewers. But this isn’t a variety show, this is about picking the most powerful leader in the world and once more, despite his brain dead following, Trump has proved that he is just not that guy.
Now, Trump may still reverse his position or Roger Ailes, the slug who runs Fox News, may chicken out and pull Kelly, but the dye has already been cast. Trump is shaking in his fancy loafers at the thought of Megyn Kelly asking him a tough question like how will you get the Muslims kicked out of the country when no one but Trump and a small coterie of back country shit kickers thinks it’s a viable idea?
Scarborough talks about how Fox hasn’t been fair to Trump. Fair? There’s no fair in politics. Has Joe been fair in his constant baseless attacks on Hillary? Is she whining about them? Mark Halperin, a Scarborough sycophant, asks for respect for Trump because of the office, for which he is running. Respect? For a guy who has shown absolutely no respect for anyone or anything except what he wants.
Now the tough guy who has been telling us how he’s going to get everything done and how no one can stand up in the face of his magnificence can’t even stand up to a girl. Let’s face it Trump is pathetic! What is he afraid of? She’s not going to punch him in the nose. She’s just going to ask some questions. Yeah but that’s the problem when you know that you don’t have the answers, aren’t clever enough to answer questions in a way that is advantageous to you.
That’s what has him in a panic.
It’s easy for a guy like Trump to do sixty minutes of running dialogue, when all he has to do is make it up as he goes along, but when there has to be some factual detail, some truth, some real knowledge of what he is talking about, guys like Trump are stuck.
“I’m going to make this country great again and I’m going to do it by making better deals because that’s what I do. I’m going to make China back down from their trading policies and from their currency manipulation and then I’m going to build this great wall, I build great walls, and I’m going to make Mexico pay for it, even though I’m going to be chasing Mexicans out of the country by the truckload.”
Sound familiar? It should because it’s exactly the same garbage Trump has been spewing forth ever since August. Notice anything similar about the promises? You should, because there is no “how” involved in any of them. Why is that? Because he doesn’t know how! He just knows how to blow steam and that’s what Trump is afraid of; having to answer the question about how he will do any of the ridiculous things he is lying about. He is terrified that a woman, the target of all his misogynistic bile, is going to ask one of those questions and he will either have to answer it or look like the bloviating fool that he is.
I heard one of the clowns on Morning Joe say that Trump was very brave to take this stance against Fox News and I almost fell off the chair. This was the perfect chance to prove that all the bullshit he has been spreading around the country could be backed up, but he passed. He’s passing simply because he can’t back it up and he knows it. Trump knows that if he goes on that show and Kelly asks him the right question he will be stuck and no matter how much he bloviates, no matter how much he tries to change the subject, the world will know he just another loud mouthed phony. The world will know that he is full of crap and it will know that he has been bested by his misogynistic nightmare, a woman. And he will fold like a cheap suit and have to go back to bribing building inspectors and bullying unions for a living.
