Watching the GOP pundits like Joe Scarborough and his silly excuse for a panel on Morning Joe, give voice to a twisted version of President Obama’s reactions to certain international situations simply because it gives them a phony chance to create political attacks against the President, is truly enlightening.
MSNBC must have hired Scarborough for some other reason besides his ability to sell soap but watching him it is extremely difficult to understand what that quality might be.
He did a whole segment this morning on the fact hat Obama didn’t jump on a plane the second some ISIS bomber blew up another building in a foreign country. He viciously attacked the pictures of Obama tangoing in Argentina or speaking to Raoul Castro in Cuba after the Belgium attacks. He went back to his favorite quote, when Obama called ISIS the JV team, not seeming to understand that it took place at a point in time when they really were a JV team. Is it s beyond Scarborough’s intellectual ability to understand that JV teams do grow up to become the varsity but there is actually a time when they really are a JV team and that’s what ISIS was when Obama named them as such.
Of course Scarborough does the same sleazy routine that his GOP compatriots do. Don’t talk about what is actually happening, talk about what can be twisted to political expediency. In the case of the Belgium bombing Obama didn’t do what George Bush would have done; which was to dress up in someone else’s fanciest military uniform and declare war on ISIS. Sure, we’re already fighting them but Bush wouldn’t have cared as long as it was a good photo op.
In downplaying the event, Obama refused to give ISIS the press coverage they wanted. Those who whined because Obama didn’t run to Paris, Belgium or any of the other attacked cities around the world just don’t get it. Cities under siege need every available resource they possess just to handle the immediate crisis. They don’t have the resources to take care of visiting dignitaries who want a photo op at the bomb site in order to garner more votes back home. We had too much of this from the little popinjay, Bush and if by some horrendous chance Trump ever got in the White House we would have all we could handle of it from the fat orange that walks like a man.
Obama is handling ISIS in exactly the right way. Don’t cower before the insane attacks from these killers. Don’t build them into anything more than they are, which is random attacks by people who have no reason to live, mainly because they have no vision of humanity, only a a false view of a bastardized religion.
We kill 30,000 of our own people right here every year with out blinking an eye, just so a bunch of pathetic clowns can carry guns that get their dicks hard. Why should we get all bent out of shape by twenty or thirty or even a couple of hundred deaths by terrorist? If we don’t care enough about human life to stop these pathetic miscreants from walking around with loaded guns, why should we be terrorized by some foreign nuts setting off a couple of bombs?
Obama is handling this terrorist thing the right way. It’s the Right, cowering in fear and whining about how to accomplish what Obama is already accomplishing that need to understand how to win a fight so that it stays won.
Jeffrey Goldberg who wrote an all encompassing article in the Atlantic about all this, tries to explain it to Scarborough but Joe is so immersed in the GOP Cool Aide that he just isn’t open minded enough to digest the truth. Joe has his own truth and the ego to go with it and it brooks no other opinion
The reality that Scarborough and his other GOP flacks can’t accept is that Obama, as opposed to all the GOP presidents back through Reagan, is intelligent enough to understand what he can and can’t accomplish. He gets that what is happening in the Middle East, can’t be fixed by an American, any American, even the President. He gets that our futile attempts to do so have all ended in disaster for us and for the people of that region. He has a different plan. Maybe it will work and maybe it won’t but at least it’s not another insane GOP attempt to repeat the same action and expect a different result.
