How Crazy is Trump?

Donald Trump attacks Hillary Clinton, claiming that she is only aware of the black population of this country as votes. Two days later a young black mother is gunned down in Chicago after registering her child for grade school. Instead of sending his regrets to the family and telling them that he stands with them in their grief, he tweets that blacks should now vote for him. This is a man completely without empathy, completely involved only with his own ego, his own desires.

This has led to him being called a psychopath, a sociopath and any number of other uncomplimentary things. But is he certifiably insane? Something horrible happens and he uses it to make a plea for the only thing that interests him, the search for votes. The best thing that can be said about Trump is that he is an out of control egomaniac. The next best is that he is simply a regular maniac, a dangerous sociopathic egotist that is arguably he worst thing that has happened to this country in recent memory.

People keep waiting for Trump to change into a real, serious candidate or at least a human being. His backers keep talking about him getting on message. What they all want, what they all need, is for Trump to change into a grown up, a man who understands that he isn’t the only one in the room. Good luck! We are talking here, about an egomaniacal sociopath. There is about as much chance for Trump to change as there is for a pig to grow wings. He says it himself whenever it comes up in interviews. He is who he is and he is always ready to tell you what a great thing that is. He will tell you that ad nausem.

This is a man who in his own mind is never wrong. Why should he change? The fact is, he survived a seventeen challenger primary and he did it with a vengeance. He sees himself as invincible. Why would anyone change that?

But despite this, we keep hearing Republicans talk about Trump adjusting, about getting control of himself. This is the guy the Republicans want us to believe can run the country, this infant with no self-control. This is the guy they want to stand up in a serious confrontation with another country and with his finger on the button and not create a nuclear Armageddon. Good luck!

So no. Trump won’t change. And if you think he will you are too dumb for the discussion. If you hope he will you are looking at the wrong candidate. If you voted for him expecting that he would; well, you can’t fix stupid.

But then we must face the question; is Trump really crazy? I’m not a psychiatrist but there are places where people go, that tell even those without a degree, that they are completely bat-shit.

Trump’s refusal to get off his attack of Khizr Khan and his wife is ludicrous. This is a family that tragically lost a son to military service in the name of their adopted country. When Mr. Khan asked the question of Trump, “What did you sacrifice for your country?” Trump’s answer was to list all the ways he had made money. Yeah, that’s right, this crackpot thinks that having to work in order to make your money is a sacrifice. More important, this clown, who constantly tells us about how much he supports our troops and our Vets is just another phony draft dodger. In 1968 just after he graduated college and lost his education draft exemption, Trump, an avid athlete who competed in football, tennis and squash suddenly came up with a medical exemption that kept him out of service in Vietnam. Captain Khan died protecting Trump’s fat ass. This, after Trump bought a phony deferment, in order to get out of military service. It’s that simple.

But let’s not get off the point. Is Trump really crazy? Well, his decision to run for President is obviously based on a lack of mental clarity. This is a man who looked at himself and his personal history and said, yes, I am a man that the public will vote for. Now, to be fair, he was either very lucky or very prescient because he has found a group of voters that don’t care what kind of degenerate scumbag they have been presented with, as long as he said he was going to get jobs for the hardcore unemployable among them

Just to prove that for him, crazy is not a part time occupation, Trump came down on the fire marshal who declared that the crowd at a recent gathering was too large and was creating an unsafe condition in the auditorium. That’s not crazy? Donald, attacking the fire marshal who is trying to keep him safe, because he didn’t want to see him and his followers trampled to death or burned to a crisp?

The biggest argument for his craziness is his penchant for attacking anyone and everyone who disagrees with him in even the most unimportant situations. His family and his backers have tried to talk him out of these fruitless attacks, reasoning that he should he talking about important issues and policy. But it’s in that seeming fault, where the only argument that Trump is not nuts may be found.

Sure it seems crazy to ignore the big issues that will affect the country and continually squabble about unimportant trivia that seems to be his only source of interest; but in doing that, he might be doing the sanest thing he possibly can.

I say that because in basing his campaign on personal attacks, trivia, name-calling and feud creation, he has managed to take the conversation completely away from national policy, a staggeringly broad area in which he is amazingly ignorant. I say amazingly because one would think that anyone who wants to be President would have an enduring interest in how the country is run and very strong and intelligently fueled opinions on how to accomplish those ends. Unfortunately Trump knows almost nothing about either our foreign or our domestic policies and he has, so far, shown little interest in learning anything about either. He tells us that he will defeat ISIS as soon as he is in office, that he will be able to do that because he knows more about ISIS than our generals. Sure Don!

I have never been a big fan of the military mind but Trump saying he knows more about a war than the generals just proves how ignorant or how crazy he really is.

Trump may in fact be sane, or he may be crazy as a bedbug but no matter which side you take the one irredeemable fact that you must take from his behavior is, that he would be a disaster of cosmic proportions for the United States if he were ever to back into the Presidency. Trump with the nuclear codes would be more dangerous than a chimp with his finger on a banana smeared nuclear button.

But don’t take my word for it. Take a look at just a few of the absolutely insane statements of the orangutan that want’s to be president:

  • “Saudi Arabia absolutely should have nuclear weapons.” Sure, last time they only got the towers, next time they can get the whole East Coast.
  • “We don’t need NATO in its current form, if we have to walk, we walk.”
  • “I would borrow knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.”
  • “Torture works. Waterboarding is fine, but it’s not nearly tough enough.”
  • On dealing with our generals and ambassadors. “They won’t refuse. They’re not going to refuse me. If I say do it, they’re going to do it.”
  • “I know more about ISIS than the generals do. Believe me.”
  • “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US marketing non-competitive.”
  • “I know Russia well. I had a major event in Russia two or three years ago.” Only if you consider the Miss Universe Contest a major diplomatic event.
  • On knowing Putin. “I got to know him very well. We were both on 60 Minutes. We were stable mates and we did very well.” They were shot in different countries at different times.

You might not consider a guy who says stuff like this certifiably insane, but you really can’t say he’s normal.
