Much ado about nothing! That would be easy to say about the multiple House committee hearing into a couple of phone calls by FBI agent Pete Strzok, but that’s letting them off way too easy. This was a monumental waste of time, and more importantly money, which took those few House members who have some sense of functionality away from the business of legislation in order to try and smear Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference into our 2016 election. It has proceeded because the majority Republican Party is in a position of power that allows them to do almost anything, no matter how detrimental to the nation, as long as it has a possible positive result for our degenerate President or some member of the GOP.
Sure, Strzok sent a couple of dumb emails to a woman with whom he ws having an affair. Who hasn’t? Once you accept that simple statement and those couple of calls there’s nothing but partisan bullshit left to deal with. Strzok has an enviable record of service in both the military and the FBI. He is a better speaker than any of his accusers, most of whom can’t speak English well enough to get elected in a state where the population has learned to read. I say this because if the voters in certain states could read they would undoubtedly have read comments by now Vice President Mike Pence stating; “Donald Trump, must not be allowed to be elected,” and a Trump Presidency would be a “disaster for the country.” Yet three short years later Pence grovels at the feet of the fat liar, his nose firmly embedded between those giant cheeks. Did Pence’s anti-Trump rant create too much bias to allow him to become Vice President? Because he said a lot worse things about Trump than Strzok did.
The GOP loves these hearings because they allow all its dumbest members, the ones who don’t understand the legislation tat is under consideration back at the capital, to get the hell out and bray like ruptured mules at something else they don’t understand. Louis Gohmert the senile congressman from Texas proved my point when he brought Strzok’s family into the discussion. This disgusting move led to cries of outrage and calls for him to get back on his medication. But Gohmert is just a small time agitator with little brains and less understanding of how the world works. It’s really the sleazy Trey Gowdy who has had the most to say and the least to contribute. Many of you may remember Gowdy as the perpetrator of the disastrous Benghazi hearings, that two and a half year farce that came to no conclusion. Gowdy as chairman viciously attacked Hillary Clinton with one lie after another and probably because all the accusations were lies, never made any of them stick. So on that one he looked like an asshole and cost the nation millions in wasted tax money. Now he’s back, snarkier, looking more like a whitehead and equipped with more lies and if possible, less credibility than last time. Gowdy needs nothing less than a punch in the mouth to get him off his venal line and back to reality.
So it’s obvious that the GOP would love to be able to scream “off with his head” and see Strzok dragged to the guillotine but what really happened is that they failed again in their aims so now Strzok looks like a hero after telling this bunch of idiots how the FBI worked and how people who serve the country should work. Mueller is on firmer ground then ever due to the GOP House Committee’s failure to do anything but look like fools after having wasted a few million more of taxpayers money. Can the Republicans really be as stupid and incompetent as they appear or is this some clever ruse to put us at ease before the 2018 elections?

So, we’ve had two summits in the last month and we know nothing about what went on in either one of them. This is especially true of the second one in which the President decided that he didn’t want any witnesses to what he and Putin would then be able to lie about. But let’s go back to the first one for a moment. Trump came out of the first meeting, the one with Kim Jung Un, telling us we could all sleep soundly because the idiot had solved all the problems of nuclear bombs in Asia. The North Koreans were going to disassemble their entire nuclear system. This was all pure utter bullshit! Even as Trump was telling us that he had saved the world from North Korea’s nuclear threat, North Koreans were calling us gangsters and restarting the program so they’d have lots and lots of stuff to rattle next time Trump opened his mouth. It’s obvious that we will never actually know about what went on in the meeting between Trump and Kim.
When Trump comes out of Singapore telling us “Mission accomplished.” And a couple of days later the North Koreans are calling us gangsters and swearing that they will never give up their nuclear weapons, we have to know both were lying but it was Trump who was lying to us.
Now we’ve given Trump another playground on which he can lie and manipulate. Trump’s meeting with Putin in Helsinki in which there were no witnesses to say with any certainty what these consummate liars told each other has left our intelligence community and our government with no idea what went on. What promises were made between Putin and Trump? What threats were made? Nobody knows. It was Putin’s suggestion that his intelligence people be allowed to interrogate Americans in exchange for a letting Americans interrogate the12 men named by Mueller in his indictments. Did that suggestion accompany some bullying tactic or was Trump really dumb enough to think I was a good idea? Now trump has invited Putin to Washington in the fall. This is a complete break with tradition and considering the source, a complete break with sanity.
Trump seems to think that this was somehow a successful meeting for him. He doesn’t get that abandoning his intelligence community in favor of praising Putin was a mistake of such consequence that he may have lost part of his base.
Never in the history of our nation has a President attacked his own intelligence community and military in favor of a foreign dictator. In doing so Trump has once again given aid and comfort to the enemy. That appears to have been a major strategy mistake not just because of its effect on his base but because for the first time he is opening himself to serious criticism from those members of the Republican Party who have managed to ignore all his previous mistakes and inconsistencies.
The problem with Trump as human being is that he has never been held responsible for anything he’s done and therefore has never learned that words and actions have consequences. Trump is the son of a wealthy man whose money bought Trump out of all of his problems, including the draft. So he has nev;rphad to be accountable for anything. He has never had to apologize for anything and he has never had to admit he was wrong about anything; perfect training for a dictator, but not a President.
