Joe Biden threw his hat n the ring last Thursday morning and immediately made it crystal clear that he was going to pursue a very different game plan than all the other significant candidates. Whereas the other front-runners have opted for the policy wonk approach instead of the kill Trump approach, Biden went directly at the current White House occupant. He made it very clear that the reason he was running was to dump Trump.
Biden’s opening statement started with Charlottesville and Trump’s gaff about there being good people on both sides, then progressed through what a disaster Trump is for the country and ended with the prediction that the nation would lose its soul if the Fat Liar were allowed a second term.
Biden has a lot of experience and everyone one can be assured he has both working knowledge and opinions on all the big policy questions but it looks like his approach will definitely be; “Elect me over the fat scruve who is ruining our wonderful country.”

Just to prove they’re a bunch of cheap crooks, the Trump administration, in an attempt to deflect any and all House investigations have decided to:
1-Tell a white House official not to comply with a legal subpoena
2-File a lawsuit over House demands for financial records.
3-Decline House requests for Trump’s tax returns
4-Plan to fight a House subpoena for McGahn
5-Keep Stephen Miller from testifying about immigration.
So what’s wrong with all this? Well, the Constitution has given congress the power to do all this as part of their mandate to control the Executive Branch. But Trump isn’t fighting these subpoenas he is just ignoring them! That means we are at a point where we must decide whether or not we are a constitutional democracy. If the President can just ignore what he’s supposed to do under that constitution then we have chaos.
The reason we are here is that Trump and his lackeys have decided that any admissions that the Russians have had any influence on the 2016 election casts a dark shadow over his victory. This ego driven assumption has led an already criminally leaning President to the point where he no longer deals with reality but only his own psychotic imaginings. They have led him to a point of complete non-cooperation with anyone in the government that does not kneel before his throne. He has also been able to appoint his own ass kissers to the most important jobs in the justice department. We now have an Attorney General who appears to feel he is Trump’s personal lawyer, not the head of the people’s justice department. He made that extremely clear when he went in front of the Senate Committee this week, spent a couple of hours lying o them and avoiding all facts and then refused to appear before the House Committee the next day.
But no matter what else is going on, it’s congress’ job to reign in the worst impulses of the President. Unfortunately only one house of congress sees this as important. The Senate as it is now constituted, thinks it’s their job to rubberstamp any whim the President indulges.
All this has left a President with already criminal instincts, believing that he is more a king than a president and has allowed him to follow his worst impulses. So we are faced with a real constitutional crisis. The Democrats have already stated that they have no desire to impeach Trump, partly because they know they can’t get a conviction from the degenerate Senate and partly because they think the best way to actually get rid of him is to vote him out of office.
But Trump, because he consistently displays all the symptoms of criminal insanity, isn’t satisfied to just let the scenario play itself out. He has decided, maybe because there is so much criminal evidence around, to defy the House committees and cause this whole mess to come to a head.
Under normal circumstances this would be pretty easily dealt with but because the judicial system is now so undermined by the appointment of Bill Barr as the AG, finding a way to deal with Trump’s intransigency is becoming a real problem. What is already a constitutional crisis, could become far worse.
The big questions are; will the House now push for impeachment just because it is becoming their only tool for dealing with this would be dictator? Will the Senate grow a backbone and move against Trump when he, inevitably, tries to ascend the throne? How will the military react and what will the generals do to keep everything in check?
Sound like a banana republic does it? Funny, that’s exactly what it looks like to me. This country has always had a soft spot for militant dictators who denounced communism below the border. I wonder how it’s going to react to a militant dictator who kisses the ass of the world’s most Communist dictator even as he cozies up to another Red wanna-be who spends his time waving nuclear weapons and killing American kids?
Right now we are edging toward a civil upheaval that will make Lincoln and Lee’s war look like a ten man demonstration inside an empty Soldier’s Field. Because Trump has thus far been allowed to follow his criminal instincts without interference, because his AG has abandoned his role of leading the justice department in favor of becoming Trump’s personal lawyer and because Bob Mueller didn’t call a crook a crook and then do something about it, we are on the brink of a complete breakdown of our democratic system of government.
Just because Donald Trump is President is no reason to allow him to break and flaunt the laws of the land. That is now exactly what he us doing. If he isn’t stopped we’re going to have guns in the streets, and the greatest experiment in governance in the history of the world will be destroyed forever.
The concept that a sitting president can’t be indicted is a joke. It isn’t a law. It’s just an idea promulgated by the justice department to avoid intergovernmental disputes. Nowhere in our laws does it say that all of us except the president have to obey the laws. This is a constitutional democracy not a dictatorship.
Mueller didn’t indict but what he did do was lay out the facts that the Russians invaded our electoral system and helped Donald Trump get elected. He also illustrated in many ways that our current President sought the help of the Russians and indeed when he should have scorned that help, he used it to get elected Any law-abiding, patriotic American would have turned in anyone who was involved in getting that help to the FBI.
The Mueller report clearly illustrates how Trump has tried in myriad ways to stop any investigation into Russian interference in our election and especially his acquiescence with that interference. Trump’s actions were clearly violations of any principals of anyone who has any moral values.

By now it’s no big news that Attorney General Bill Barr misrepresented the Mueller report in the summary that he released to the public almost a month before the redacted version was publicly available. It’s also no big news that Barr did this to shield a guilty President who had appointed him as AG to do just that. So Trump is the criminal and Barr is driving the get-a-way car. But that makes him a criminal too.
It has now been revealed that as soon as Barr released his fictional synopsis of the Mueller Report, Bob Mueller sent him a letter complaining that Barr had mischaracterized (read: lied about) the report and that he expected Barr to straighten this out. This letter, which was first reported in the Washington Post and then published in the NY Times was evidence that Mueller wanted it on the record with a time stamp. He and Barr had been friends for years. If he just wanted to jog Barr a little or to just let him know he was a little upset, Mueller would have called him. But both are lawyers and this is the way lawyers make things official.
Don’t forget, Barr testified before a Senate committee as to the factual nature of his summary just after he released it. He also testified under oath that he had no knowledge of any objections that Mueller may have had. This testimony occurred after said letter was received by Barr’s office. This was a direct lie, under oath. It’s also called perjury. A Republican House impeached Bill Clinton for a hell of a lot less.

Since Trump was sworn into office he has lied to the American public over 10,000 times. In addition, Mike Pence, Lindsay Graham, Sara Saunders, KellyAnn Conway, Steve Miller, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Jim Jordan, Ron Johnson, Mic Mulvaney, all the indicted ex-members of the administration and most of the Cabinet have lied repeatedly in all their public ranting’s.
This Retrumplican Party is a disgrace to the nation and they all need to be removed and replaced. We have had bad presidents before, but none so bad as Trump. What we have never had is an entire government that abandoned truth the way this one has.

Trump met with Nancy Pelosi and Paul Schumer recently and all emerged from the meeting wreathed in smiles because the President agreed to a three trillion dollar infrastructure program. Does anyone really believe this will happen? Does anyone really believe that Trump won’t change his mind tomorrow? This is it. This is what you get for the way you voted. Get ready for another year and a half of nothing getting done. Then if the people can get it together to get this mass of sleaze out of the government maybe we can look forward to making our government, once again, the “shinning city on the hill.”
