Time to Pay Attention

Lately there’s been a great deal of controversy lately over whether or not Trump actually wants to be impeached. The “yes” crowd figured, based on what happened during the Clinton impeachment, Trump might have decided it would make him a martyr and help his chances for re-election.

After watching his reactions to various stimuli for the last couple of years it’s apparent that this just isn’t the case. Trump actually seems to be in a panic about the idea of impeachment. Naturally this makes complete sense. Anyone with an ego like the Fat Liar couldn’t possibly deal with the negative aspects of being impeached. This is a criminal who thinks he’s the greatest President this country has ever had and the idea of being impeached, even if he knows he won’t be convicted, is more than his fragile ego could possibly stand. No, Trump doesn’t want to be impeached and he’s doing everything he possibly can to keep that from happening. It’s just that he’s such a psychopath that he can’t always control his own actions; hence his unacceptable outbursts.

His problem is his ego, which leaves him incapable of taking any advice from anyone; so even those in the White House who are in a position to help him are rendered helpless by his inability to listen to anything except what’s flying around in his empty head.

It’s all a recipe for disaster, a recipe that should be baked by the Dems into a cake that sets up a long term program that starts with an impeachment inquiry, and progresses to the impeachment process yet never arrives at the point of actually turning the process over to the GOP infected Senate. This would allow the Democrats to reveal, through public testimony, all of Trump’s disgraceful activities, both political and personal, while never giving the GOP flunkies in the Senate a shot at voting him innocent and thereby giving him a win. . It wouldn’t be too difficult for the Dems to run the whole process to just a couple of months before the 2020 election; then pull a Mitch McConnell, and claim it’s too close to the election to turn it over to the Senate.

And speaking of McConnell, he is a hateful individual but a brilliant politician who, if confronted by the same scenario I have described, and needing it to favor the GOP, would jump at it in a millisecond.  He wouldn’t care how it looked or whom it upset or about anything except; would it work? If the Democrats want to have even a sniff at winning in 2020, that’s exactly how they are going to have to look at the whole process. If they don’t they can kiss their chances goodbye and sit back to watch Trump and the GOP turn this Nation into a dictatorship.

In their zeal to find someone who can wallop Trump, the Democrats seem to have forgotten that no matter who they elect to the Presidency, nothing good will happen unless they manage to get majorities in both House and Senate. Granted this is not as important as wresting power from Trump but it is just as important from a getting shit done POV.  Control of both houses of congress and the presidency will mean the success of legislation that will be aimed at better wages, better and cheaper healthcare, more successful education, control of energy and therefore the climate, more infrastructure, improved tax policies, a serious immigration policy, gun control, the solidification of Roe v Wade and the introduction of a host of policies that will benefit the American people in general. Based on the first two years of the Trump administration when the GOP had control of all three areas of government, it has been shown that nothing will be done if we re-elect the GOP to any of these areas of government. It’s up to you.

Congresswoman Liz Cheney, daughter of possibly the most evil man ever to occupy office in this country, appeared on This Week, as the only thing she is capable of being; an apologist for the current administration. When asked to answer a number of questions about the President’s actions, she ignored the questions and made speeches, all based on false fact or outright lies, promoting the administrations policies or lack thereof.

I find it fascinating that there is a coven of Retrumplican women, containing but not limited to Cheney, Kelly Ann Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, that appear willing to forgo any embrace of women’s rights and needs in order to suck up to the Fat Liar in the White House. Where the hell does that come from?

Donald Trump committed blasphemy the other day when he accused John McCain of treason. This lying, cowardly draft dodger had the consummate nerve and blasphemes stupidity to use the words McCain and treason in the same sentence.

We all know that Trump throws out these bizarre, ridiculous bits of nonsense because he is trying to distract us from his failures as President.  He doesn’t want us to look at his two plus years of utter failure where he has done absolutely nothing but help a small segment of rich Americans who care nothing for anything, except how to expand their bottom line, even as he has ignored the problems of the vast majority of hard working Americans.

Donald Trump spent he Memorial Day Weekend in Japan where he used a press conference first to denigrate Japan’s legitimate fears on North Korean missal tests and then went on a rant, attacking Vice President Biden, even agreeing with dictator Kim Jung Un that Biden was stupid.  This meeting of criminals was the perfect marriage between a viscous, sadistic dictator and an ignorant egomaniac with zero social skills.

In his grotesque ignorance Trump went on to babble about how he saved America from the dangers of the failed nuclear treaty Obama had signed with Iran. He sure did, here we had this nasty treaty that was keeping the Iranians from nuclear development for at least 15 years and now that Trump has stuck his bulbous nose into the deal we are on the brink of war. That may look good to Trump but only because he is the most ignorant, the most uneducated asshole ever to step into the White House.

No satisfied with making himself look like a fool, Trump went on to secure his place in the great clown college in the sky when he went on another rant about how the Biden/Obama team had ruined the American economy and how he saved it. Really?

Even if one were as uninformed as Trump, could he or she ever come up with such a ridiculous notion? Almost everyone who can read understands that Obama saved the nation from the Bush/Cheney economic failures that led to the crash of 2007.  Those same people also understand that it was Obama’s economic moves that saved American manufacturing and continued to save it right up until today. They also understand that Trump has had nothing to do with the soaring economy, that it is simply a legacy of Barak Obama and it would have been much greater if some misguided GOP idiots in congress hadn’t subsequently blocked Obama from expanding that growth.

What Mueller said in his press conference was; even though there was much evidence of obstruction of justice he was not able to charge the President with a crime because justice department policy, under which he was working, prohibits him from indicting a sitting President. He was very careful never to say the President wasn’t guilty. It’s pretty clear that in Mueller’s mind Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice.

Which leads us to a couple of the principal problems this country is facing right now; the inconstancy of many of our domestic legal positions and almost all of our foreign treaties and agreements. This puts the most powerful nation on the planet in a position whereby their treaties are powerless and their legal proceedings ludicrous.

Let’s take two explosive examples. First on the legal front let’s look at a justice department policy that says: a sitting president cannot be indicted. Now it’s obvious where this concept comes from. No one wants the president to be using his valuable time to protect himself from legal problems when he should be using it to do the business of the people. Sounds reasonable right? Well, look at it again. Any president who has done enough wrong to be proved guilty of the stuff that Trump is accused of, isn’t using much of his time to do the people’s business anyway, and where in the constitution does it say a sitting President cannot be indicted? This isn’t a law. It isn’t even a formal rule of any kind. This is just a whimsical policy of some former head of the justice department. It has no legal standing and it has only been enforced when a would-be dictator like Trump has the political power to get it enforced. Trump has done this by firing anyone who doesn’t kiss his ass and hiring a bunch of petty sycophants who know how to keep their noses firmly lodged up into his butt cheeks in order to obstruct the very process that is aimed at prosecuting him.

On the other or foreign policy side of the ledger, we are forced to look at every president’s seeming ability to overthrow any treaty we have with any country in the world. Right now Trump is using that ability to completely screw up our relations with the rest of the world. Trump, for whatever his own twisted reasons, has managed to pull us out of a serious number of treaties, including but not limited to the Iran Nuclear Treaty, plus almost anything having to do with climate control or trade. By doing this unilaterally he has destroyed our ability to be believable in any subsequent dealings with any of the nations Trump is busy screwing.
