I’m watching Trump’s interview with George Stephanopoulos and the Fat Liar keeps talking about the truth. What the hell does Trump know about truth? This is a jackass that has lied over 10,000 times in his first two years in office. He’s a joke, or he would be if his actions weren’t so serious.
Trump whines about being mistreated by everyone in Washington but especially Obama. He claims that no president in the history of the nation has been so abused. Maybe, but for sure he deserves it. No President in the history of the nation as acted so much the criminal. No President has been as much of a racist, a bigot, a misogynist or an unmitigated liar. So he has earned any abuse he gets.

The impeachment battle goes on. To impeach or not to impeach, that is definitely the question. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was on This Week, and made an impassioned plea for impeachment; stating definitively that the congress has the duty to pursue the President’s criminal behavior and hold him accountable. But that’s the problem. Impeachment isn’t a criminal process. It’s a political process and because of the political allocation of seats in the Senate it is nothing but a dead end street and a huge political loser for the Democrats.
I can see nothing worse than an impeachment decision by the House going to the Senate and having the Senate vote the criminal Trump, “innocent.” That’s exactly what will happen if it ever goes that far. Such a vote will give Trump a huge public relations victory just before the elections. It‘s not something the Democrats can allow to happen.
The only way to get Trump safely out of office is the 2020 election. Suppose some odd miracle did remove him by impeachment. Would you consider Pence an improvement?

And while we’re on AOC; let me make a point of an important subject she broached. There are so many candidates in the Democratic field that there is a distinct danger that focus on the critical need for a strong block of Democrats looking to wrest Senate seats from the GOP in the 2020 election will be lost.
This is very important! Many of the candidates who realistically have no shot at the presidency, could be real threats to grab a Senate seat. If the Democrats actually win the Presidency and hold the House, getting a majority in the Senate will be critical to their plans to introduce all the legislation they hope to pass in their search for a better America. Good intentions are fine but real power is what moves the ball. Holding all three institutions of government would allow the Democrats to finally move ahead towards making this the country that we all know it should be.
But staying on AOC; the interview led her into an extremely intelligent discussion of her insightful views on billionaires in our economy and where they actually stand, as opposed to where they really should stand, on paying their fair share of the national bills. I surely hope she continues this POV when Robert DeNiro and his partners move to install their new studio in LIC, where she was recently involved in chasing away the Amazon project, which would have been of immense benefit to that area specifically and the city in general.
*****
Then the discussion on This Weekwent to the panel where Chris Christie attacked AOC for not being able to do math, claiming that it was impossible to do all the things she wanted to do because the money was just not there to pay for them.
In fact the money is there! Elizabeth Warren has proved it with her various, fully financed plans. The real math problem Chris is having is, he’s so in debt to his rich GOP donors he doesn’t want them to have to spend so much as a nickel of their exorbitant profits, regardless of how much it would help the country be better for everyone.

When the matter of what should be done when a foreign entity approaches you with information on your opponent during an election came up this week, Trump told us that he thought it was okay for him to look at the information, decide whether it was bad or not and then considercontacting the FBI. Yeah, with his track record of criminal activity he’s exactly who we want making decisions like that. Trump deciding whether or not something is against the law is like a dog deciding not to eat the hamburger you just left on the floor. This is a guy who never met a law he didn’t want to break, a guy who has already decided to do away with all laws except his declarations as soon as he becomes dictator.

Watched Steve Scalise, the GOP whip babble on about how we don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons because if they had them they would have used them in the Gulf of Hormuz attacks on Norwegian and Japanese tankers. It’s obvious that Steve was a dolt before he got shot. Taking a bullet didn’t make him any smarter. In fact it did nothing for him except help publish a book. So he figures that if Iran had a nuclear weapon, the place thqiyhey would use it is right within their own border. Scalise’s stupidity would be monumental if he were worthy of that stature.

There’s been a great deal of noise this week about Kelly Ann Conway getting censured for violating the Hatch Act. Basically the Hatch Act says that government employees can’t do anything on the government’s time that is political. Now I despise Kelly, I think she’s a stain on the American flag, but in this case I think it’s all baloney. She hasn’t been doing anything that every other government employee has been doing since the Hatch Act was passed. The fact is it’s almost impossible to be a government employee without violating the Hatch Act. Most government employees above a certain pay grade are political appointments. Everything they do is to help the party or official that gave them the job, so they are always violating the Hatch Act. The Hatch Act is a bad law because it’s impossible to live up to it and still do the jobs these government workers were hired to do. It should be revoked and a new law that takes into account the realities of what people actually do in Washington should replace it.
Conway, whose government job is, Counselor to the President, can’t do her government job if she doesn’t consider and act on what is happening politically. To accuse her of violating the flawed Hatch Act is to prove you don’t know squat about how Washington works.

The latest kerfuffle about poll numbers that has the White House up in arms and Trump apoplectic, ended with the firing of the pollsters. The polls with numbers unfavorable to Trump were then replaced by polls that showed him ahead of Biden. That’s just SOP for the criminal Trump and his degenerate administration, but what’s just as interesting is the reluctance of many pundits to put much trust in the real polls, citing how they were wrong in 2016. But that is just as false. They weren’t wrong in 2016, they were just geographically unbalanced. They said that Hillary would win and she did, by 3 million votes. It was just that those votes were in the wrong places. That’s because we still elect our presidents using the ridiculous Electoral College. The Democrats don’t have to do better. They just have to get more votes in the right places.

The big noise in Iran is the latest nonsense generated by the Trump administration to take impeachment pressure off the President. Two oil tankers, neither of American registry, have been attacked this week in the Straits of Horuze. For a warmongering scurve like John Bolton, this is a call to arms. For anyone else it’s laughable. If Iran actually did carry out these attacks against tankers probably carrying their own products, it still wouldn’t be any of our business. If anyone wants to go to war over this it should be Norway or Japan, the countries to which the ships were registered. If they have a problem, let them take care of it.
But the whole thing is nonsense. Bolton aside, no one wants to go to war with Iran, least of all Trump. In case you haven’t been paying attention, we have been down this street before. Trump has some piece of information or news he either doesn’t want to deal with or thinks can hurt him, so he makes noise in the next sty, where the pigs are causing a different problem.
Trump already produced this show in North Korea and Venezuela. Are we at war in either place? Look, Trump’s a bully. This, contrary to what some jerk said in a book that bears Trump’s name, is his only negotiating style. Attack and make a big noise and then back off and let things settle down before taking credit for solving whatever the problem happens to be. Just take a look at Mexico/U.S. relations right now.
Trump needed Mexico to help take the pressure off the Trump created immigrant crisis at our southern border. So what does he do? He created tariffs that would kill American consumers but which he knows he can’t follow through on. Sure Mexico comes to the table. We are their principle-trading partner, so they must. But they don’t agree to doanything. They do agree to look at the problem and get back to Trump. We all, including Trump, know that is Mexican for nothing will happen in the foreseeable future. The Fat Liar in the White House announces complete and utter victory and parades around the Washington like he just won WWII.
If the leaders of Iran have any intelligence and I think some of them do, they will contact Trump, ignore the problem and ask for a meeting between Trump and the Hassan Rouhani. Then the Rouhani and the Donald can exchange love letters and sit down to some kind of non-productive meeting, after which Trump can claim he has solved the Middle East crisis and tell the world what a great negotiator he is. Then he can look around for another phony crisis to create to distract from the fact that he actually has accomplished nothing during his time in office.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced that she will be leaving her job as Press Secretary next month. This would be wonderful news but does anyone really believe her? If it were true, it would be her first true statement since she got the job. The consummate liar, delivering lies for the ultimate liar.
If Sanders were that important, she would be a major stain on this administration, but as it worked out she’s just another piece of dirty toilet paper that needs to be flushed. She tried to stand between the lies of the President and the truth of every situation that developed for over a year and all that happened was that everyone in the world decided that the United States government couldn’t be trusted and the American public got played by a Fat Liar and his chubby tool.
