537 Days until Trump is indicted
Sara Fagan one of the better GOP strategists made an interesting but faulty statement in a recent debate with Roland Martin. She attacked Martin’s statement that he could find nothing good to say about the President. Well, yeah! I have searched my memory and my research files to find something good to say about Donald Trump’s personality, his work ethic, his lack of truthfulness, his classless demeanor, his egomaniacal behavior or his policies and let me tell you it’s a damned tough and almost completely lost cause. I mean what can you say that’s reasonably good about a clownish, lying racist with sociopathic tendencies?

For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to make this discovery, let me state in all honesty that Rand Paul is a weasely little creep who has no more business being in congress than my neighbor’s dog. I have stated previously that Paul’s neighbor didn’t beat him even close to badly enough. Rand keeps proving me right every day.
It was his vote that screwed passing a bill that would have helped First Responders recover from their heroics. Rand’s pathetic excuse was that the bill did not pinpoint where the money would come from and would therefore add to the debt. ADD TO THE DEBT? Where the hell was this ahole when he was voting to pass Trump’s tax bill, a disaster that added three trillion bucks to the debt while helping no one except billionaires?
Then the cowardly little creep dodged a reporter by telling him to call the office and request an interview but the reporter had already done that and been brushed off. Paul is just another gutless little punk trying to get on his toes so he can kiss Trump’s ass.

George Stephanopoulos had Elijah Cummings on This Week, taking about the Trump vs The Squad boondoggle. Cummings is a revered legislator for some very good reasons, his fair-mindedness, for one thing, his history of fighting the right fights for another. He made some very solid points while expressing his horror at what Trump is doing in the White House.
Maybe because of some misguided sense that if you have one side on your show you always have t have the other, Stephanopoulos followed up on Cummings with Mercedes Schlapp, senior advisor to the Trump campaign.
If one were looking for some kind of parity between the revered and experienced Cummings and the unknown Ms Schlapp, one would be sorely disappointed. Cummings approached the discussion with logic and reason, explaining clearly why he considered our President a racist and what he would like to see happen to counter it. Schlapp, on the other hand, approached the discussion as an opportunity to use some TV face time to expound the administration’s lies, to berate the women of The Squad and to twist every so-called fact that came out of her fetid mouth. She started out by saying that Trump is compassionate. To whom, to what and when? She babbled that Trump wasn’t happy with the chants of “Send her back,” aimed at Ilhan Omar. Anyone who saw the actual footage saw a gleeful racist wallowing in the Nazi chants of his brain dead followers.
I find it interesting that Schlapp used the term anti-Semitic to describe Ilhan Omar and others of the Democratic Party. Anyone who has listened to the racist nonsense put out by Trump’s white supremacist base knows there is no one more anti-Semitic than Donald Trump or his KKK followers.
Schlapp’s attack is based on misquoting statements by Omar, Talib, Ocasio-Cortez and Pressley and then attacking those misquotes on the basis that they are un-American because they find fault with a government and its departments that have failed repeatedly to do the right thing. It’s a pathetic basis for an argument but then Schlapp, whose only asset is her ability to talk almost non-stop, makes a pretty pathetic presentation in general.
Schlapp claims to be a first generation Cuban/American and everyone knows the history of that Batistero based group and why they all seem to have flowed to the far Right. It isn’t something on which to base any kind of normal American thinking. So they are the last ones who should be telling anyone to go back where they came from. Suffice it to say, that of all the petty liars and fools that the GOP could have sent into this debate, this woman should have not been in the top ten thousand.

I watched less than one minute of Trump’s speech to the great unwashed the other night and in that short time he uttered not one but two huge liesthat were in fact accusations against women of color who, unlike Trump, had actually been elected to their offices, by significant majorities.
First he accused Ilhan Omar of launching viscous anti-Semitic screeds and of hating our country. Neither is true. She did criticize Israel for a human rights policy that has been attacked by almost everyone except Trump and Netanyahu’s wife. That’s not anti-Semitic, that’s intelligent criticism. As for hating this country, nothing she has said has indicated an attack on our nation, despite the fact that the Fat Liar in the White House is leading it. That isn’t hating America. That’s pointing out the failures and foibles of an incompetent government lead by a man with no qualifications for the job.
Then Trump attacked what he called “ideologues” who he claimed want to attack our magnificent country. First of all, that’s the same country for which he invented hats that said MAGA, a definite statement that there was something very wrong with what he inherited. Second, those ideologues are not attacking the constitution, just his violations of the constitution. It’s Trump who has ignored and attacked almost every element of the constitution in his grubby search for the throne. The problem is that he’s such a liar that he doesn’t even realize that he’s lying anymore. He just follows any thought that invades his vacant brain with no thought as to how it will work or even how it will be perceived.

The latest shit storm in which Trump attacked Elijah Cummings and accused him of running a huge slum in Baltimore has some very interesting feedback. It seems that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, owns a number of buildings in that particular area, buildings that have been cited for all kinds of housing violations, including the rats that the Fat Liar in the White House has been raving about. Seems that Jared fits right into the Trump family of slumlords after all.

With the debates coming up on Wednesday the democrats had better start getting their act together and understand that they are running against Donald Trump and not each other. What they’ve been doing is thinking strictly about the primary and that’s short-term thinking. Acting in the short term is exactly why Trump is a miserable failure in office. Let’s not emulate the worst president in the history of the nation.
The Dems have to get it together even if they have to meet to do it. The idea of casting Joe Biden as a racist is absurd when one considers his track record, but so is the idea that one group of candidates wants to get rid of the insurance business and another group doesn’t. It’s simply a non-issue. Universal healthcare will eventually get rid of insurance companies for a purely capitalistic reason. They wont be able to compete.
The argument over whether illegal immigrants should get free healthcare is also a specious one. They already do. Anyone can walk into any emergency room and get treatment whether or not they can pay for it. That’s already the law in this and most civilized countries all over the world. That question was a stupid setup, which opened the doors for lying members of the GOP o make another invalid accusation of the candidates being socialists.
Every one of the questions expressed as: “How many of you agree with this statement,” appeared to be badly thought out and very flawed, each setting up part of the panel to look bad. It’s exactly why I won’t take any multiple-choice surveys. Ask me a question and let me respond to it in my way or take your survey and shove it. That should be the position of all the candidates. There are subtleties to every answer and unless we hear and understand those subtitles we really have no idea where the candidate stands.
“Are you for free healthcare?” “Yes!” But that can’t be all that’s said, because unless you know how to pay for it, and can show me a reasonable roadmap to that end, your answer is meaningless.
“Will you need to raise taxes to pay for free healthcare?” The answer must be “yes”, but it’s a trap unless you go on to explain that the taxes a citizen pays for healthcare won’t amount to more than a small percentage of what they now pay their insurance company for much less comprehensive coverage than they would get under Medicare.
If we don’t have that kind of debate the Dems will fail. But it can’t be all about policy. It must also be about Trump; how each candidate will attack him on what he is doing wrong and how it is hurting the country.
The candidates can’t just talk about infrastructure. They must talk about how Trump promised it and how he hasn’t delivered. They must talk about how developing much needed infrastructure will create well paying union jobs in the specific areas we most need them. They must talk about how building infrastructure will boost our national security especially in the areas of Internet and elections. They must talk about how building infrastructure is useless if Mitch McConnell won’t let the Senate pass any bills that demand we create firewalls that will protect us and our institutions from foreign interference in our electronic grid as well as those already mentioned elections.
These are ways the Democrats can use the debates as a tool to discover who they want to run. They can also turn that same tool into a weapon to attack Trump and his diabolically inept administration. It’s something they have to do if they want to insure, not only winning back the White House, but also establishing a government that will function for the people of this county and not just a few uncaring billionaires
