It was a hot weekend, especially in Saudi Arabia where someone bombed the Saudi refining facilities and burned up 5% of the world’s oil reserves. Accusations were flying and not just from the Saudis. Right here at home we have already accused the Iranians and the Yemini Houthis. But is that accurate? Our nut cake President is throwing around accusations and rattling sabers all over the Tweetisphere. Of course, as usual, he has no real information about who did it because he is too lazy and too stupid to listen to his intelligence briefings.
But what do the Iranians and the Houthis have to gain from such an invasion? Not much when you take a realistic view. In one sense they are helping the Saudis. What, you say! How can that be? Simple. Take a look.
The Saudis are hurting economically. Prices on oil, their only product if we ignore slaves, were dropping at a frightening rate and they looked even worse for the clean energy world of the future. With 5% of the worlds reserves now up in smoke, oil prices are shooting up all over the place. It seems that this disaster has saved the Saudi economy. You tell me who had the most to gain?
No one in this country, including very smart guys like Richard Haas are looking at this, but maybe it deserves more than a casual glance.
Of course the White House was busy today announcing that our Intelligence sources had discovered that the missals that did the dirty work came from Iran. That was the administration making those announcements not our intelligence agencies and that is a huge difference.
Trump wants to back the Saudi’s to the limit, as was shown when they killed Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist. We all know that Trump will say anything, tell any lie, to make a point, so that makes his word less than useless.
The first thing a cop looks for when a crime is committed is motive. The Saudis have the strongest motive.

Okay, so have you thought about it? The Iranians? What do they actually have to gain except war with America? Is that what they want, or do they want a reduction in sanctions? It seems pretty obvious that this would be a very dumb move by Iran and not at all in their best interest.
The same is true for the Yemeni’s. They are already at war with the Saudi’s but they know they can’t win. All they can hope for is a peace forced on the Saudi’s by other nations. This certainly wouldn’t happen if they were attacking Saudi oil and forcing up oil prices for those nations. So maybe there’s a small revenge factor there but it looks pretty insignificant next to what they have to lose.
That leaves Saudi Arabia as the only possible winner in this deal. Would they attack their own oil refinery if it meant fixing their economy? Are you kidding? They’d attack their own mother for a hell of a lot less.
No, no matter how you cut it the Saudis are the ones who did it. This mystery is never getting off the ground. Now it’s only a question of whether or not the world has half enough intelligence to realize it.

Donald Trump was out running for office this weekend, telling people that they had to vote for him or the country would fall apart. “They’ll spend your money,” he wailed about the Democrats. Well that might be true but at least they won’t put it in their own pockets like he does. Right now there are no less than four scandals, all violations of the emoluments policy that are illustrating Trump’s penchant for stealing from the taxpayers: Pence in Ireland, US cargo planes using Trump properties in Scotland, AG Bill Barr throwing a thirty grand party at Trump Tower in DC and Trump’s attempt to house the G8 in one of his Florida resorts next year.
When the Democrats spend money on education or infrastructure or anything in those realms, they are helping the people of the nation. When Trump does his thing it’s only helping him.

And in the same speech referred to above, Trump went after impeachment, claiming that you can’t impeach someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. Well, that’s true, but not about Trump. For once he was almost right but then he dragged out the Mueller Repost, claiming that it completely exonerated him from any complicity in anything. This just proved that Trump either can’t read, doesn’t understand English, or is propagating another of his thousands of lies. The report clearly states ten instances in which it says; Trump could be indicted for conspiracy but for the fact that he is a sitting president.
Why does Trump keep bringing the Mueller Report up? Because he knows he’s guilty and it chills his bones. The concept of going from being the most powerful man in the world, directly to a jail cell would scare the crap out of anyone. For some one as brave as our cowardly leader it’s a death knell.

Sooner or later, it had to happen. Trump’s penchant for ignoring all security protocol and any concept of the norms of human behavior had to lead him into a dumpster full of garbage that was too much even for him to consume.
The Post story that snuck out yesterday hinting that Trump had been detected speaking to a foreign leader and promising something untoward in exchange for something he had no right to demand had spread across the Internet and the news services without conformation or detail.
A whistleblower had sought legal permission to tell his or her story to the Inspector General and the Inspector General had sought advice from the Attorney General, Trump sycophant Bill Barr. Barr was quashing it.
But then in just another unqualifiedly stupid move, the administration sent senile Rudy Giuliani out to explain it all to the American public in an interview with Chris Cuomo. Before Rudy finished reversing himself and lying, the world was aware that Trump had threatened to withhold military supplies, needed to hold off Russia, from the Ukraine until they helped him subvert the campaign of Joe Biden by providing false information involving Hunter Biden in a Ukrainian scheme in which he had no association.
Trying to get Rudy to dig you out of this attempt at bribery or extortion is like asking your monkey to write the next great book of philosophy. But the big lesson to be learned from this is, Trump just doesn’t care what we know about him or how much evidence we have of various crimes he has committed before and since his inauguration. He doesn’t care how many times we catch him in lies or misdeeds. His arrogance is a product of his ego, which is monumental. It tells him that he has been elected to the most important job in the world, a job he is absolutely perfect for and at which he cannot fail as long as he follows his own perfect instincts.
The fact that he is completely wrong about all his instinctual ability never enters his empty head and he flounders along like a drunken rhino in a Crate & Barrel, thrashing and floundering, destroying everything that appears in his path and leaving chaos behind him.
He has provided congress with dozens of impeachable crimes and yet they hesitate. They impeached Clinton because of a blowjob. That pales before the reams of crimes and misdemeanors committed by Trump but still he is left in place to commit more, to endanger our nation and its people and to continue to enrich himself at the expense of the taxpayers.
Sure, we have the ability to throw him out in November of 2020 but that’s more than a year away and he can continue to do incalculable damage in that time. The time to put a stop to the carnage that is the Trump presidency, is now. This degenerate will do anything to maintain his grasp on control and in a volatile world that is creeping toward the horrors of more war in the Middle East and around the globe he must not be left to endanger the planet simply because the congress is too cowardly to call him to task.
Moscow Mitch cracked this week allowing a bill to spend $250 million on election security to go to a vote. Maybe this will signal a consideration of support for the people of this nation that has been missing from the GOP legislator’s agenda so far. If there is a crack in their support of the fat liar in the Oval Office, it will signal the Democrats in the House that a real impeachment is possible and give them spines to go ahead with such a motion. The nation can only benefit.
