A Perfectly Good Impeachment

Well, the show is underway and nothing has changed in Washington. The GOP continue to whine about it all being partisan and, of course it is. It’s basically a political process but if they didn’t want it to be partisan the GOP could vomit out a few individuals who still understand the nature of truth or morals.

Instead they shoved Nunes and Jordan, a pair of rabid bullies that wouldn’t know a true statement if it bit off their balls.

One of the biggest points they tried to sell was that the Ukrainians got the money so there was no crime.  Yes, they got the money but only after the extortion was revealed and Trump had to give it up. Just because you fail at a crime doesn’t mean that you’re innocent, just that you’re incompetent. The Watergate burglars proved that, thirty or so years ago.

The other position that the Retrublicans tried unsuccessfully to sell was that the witnesses were all Never-Trumpers or Democrats.  This had all the buoyancy of a lead balloon, seeing as they were all Republicans or moderates, all having served in both GOP and Democratic administrations, all being lifelong civil servants who have had exemplary careers but who just couldn’t swallow the crap that Trump was trying to shove down their throats.

It appears the GOP is so bereft of intelligent minds that instead of admitting Trump tried to extort the Ukrainians and argue that it wasn’t an impeachable offence, they have gone all the way back to Hillary Clinton to try to find something that can take attention from the beating they are taking in these hearings. They seem to have forgotten the bashing they took when Trey Gowdy made a fool of himself during the Benghazi hearings.

The desperate Retrumplicans have tried to sell the idea that they have to interrogate the whistleblower or nothing the Democrats contend is valid. This after they already spent the whole lead up to this saying the whistleblower was about nothing but hearsay. The reality is, at this point the whistleblower is no longer relevant as all the witnesses have given first person testimony.

Bill Taylor’s main point was that Trump’s actions endangered the Ukrainian’s, ability to protect themselves from the Russians and in so doing these actions put our own security in jeopardy.  But Trump doesn’t care about that. He cares only about getting re-elected so he can continue to make money off the Presidency and also so that he can use the Presidency to stay out of jail.

Everything Trump is currently doing, or has done in the past, points to him being in some kind of league with the Russians. No, no one can prove that right now but Trump himself is so busy trying to prove that point that there is almost no room for anyone else to get on the train.

*****

Steven Miller, Trump’s ass kissing adviser, who reads and writes for the President, has been revealed as the author of over 900 emails promoting white supremacy and attacking minorities and immigrants.  So what did the rest of the Republican Party have to say about this? Nothing! Zero! None of these complicit cowards have in any way censured him and therefore they all share in his guilt. Trump has brought it a step further by saying that all those who attack Miller are doing it because he is Jewish. Of course a large percentage of those who attack Miller and his position are Jewish and enraged by the man who lies for the President.

The GOP lackeys say they won’t watch the impeachment. Who are they kidding? In this day of recording everything they will all be watching it in the privacy of their porn rooms.

*****

Devin Nunes’ opening statement at the Impeachment hearings was typically nothing but bullshit and then he started to lie. He attacked the witnesses using nonsensical lies and acted generally like a thug and a fool.

Nunes is completely without any sense of right or wrong. He thinks nothing of lying. Would that he was under subpoena and forced to tell the truth. He would be in jail for perjury before he finished his first sentence. He is a disgrace to the concept of public service.

******

On the second day of the Impeachment Hearings Devon Nunes did what most intelligent people felt he could never do; lie more than he did on the first day. Nunes laid out three points that he felt must be dealt with before the hearings could continue but of course none of those points have anything to do with the focus of the hearings, They are just Nunes pissing in the wind and not expecting to get soaked.

Nunes speech just shows that the Retrumplicans have nothing to offer any legitimate inquiry, least of all one that deals with obvious criminal behavior by our President.

To end his ludicrous address, Nunes read a long phone call that was supposed to have been made between Trump and Zelensky. It was obviously written by Steve Miller. As soon as Nunes was finished Elise Stephanic ® NY, again, as she did on Wednesday, interrupted the proceedings, demanding a ruling on the inclusion of testimony about Joe Biden that had already been struck down. The outburst was just more of the GOP strategy of obfuscation. They understand that the President is guilty of bribery and extortion, just as they understand that Trump has killed any available defense; so the only reason for them to be in this room is to show off the way Jim Jordan does or to throw garbage in the path of progress.

*****

Watching the House Committee and Republican Chris Stewart of Utah came on and asked Ambassador Marie Yavonovitch if she had any information that the President has received any bribes from anyone.  Now even a moron like Stewart has to know that Trump isn’t accused of taking bribes, he’s accused of offering them. There is a huge difference and even the least intelligent of Republicans have to know this.

A little while later the loudmouth nut, Elise Stephanic who tried to reroute the hearings at the start of both previous days is back with her favorite smokescreen, “the whistleblower.” Apparently, she is not intelligent enough to understand that at this point the whistleblower is irrelevant. We now have all kinds of first hand testimony so who cares about he whistleblower?  Stephanic finally yielded to Jim Jordan, friend to sex offenders all over the world, who spent a minute and a half raving like a rabid dog about nothing. It seems that the Retrumplicans really have nothing to offer in these hearings and their only platform is setting their hair on fire.

******

Then Stephanic was back, babbling about no harm, no foul, because the aid money was eventually paid to Ukrainian. This is demonstrably the proof of the stupidity and gross immorality of the entire Retrumplican Party.

This Sunday the GOP sent Chris Stewart out to appear on the tube. Unbelievably, this clown is on the House Intelligence Committee. But he shows no signs of intelligence at all.

When confronted by the ridiculousness of his excuses for Trump’s actions this idiot fails to understand that what Biden did bares no relationship to what the President did.  Biden is being accused by the a bunch of GOP clowns of having a son who got a cushy, well paying job on the Board of a sleazy Ukrainian company. The United States House of Representatives are accusing Trump of bribery and extortion,

But there’s nothing one can do about the kind of ignorance that Stewart displays. When he is asked about Trump’s attempt to intimidate Ambassador Yavonovitch even as she is testifying before the House Committee. He stumbles and stutters but never comes close to making any sense. One wonders who votes for men like this?

Chris Christie had a very astute take on Trump this week when he stated clearly that Trump is what he is and he isn’t going to change no matter how good or bad his conduct is for his Presidency. Christie wasn’t saying that he approved of Trump’s actions. He was saying Trump’s  behavior is not going to change no matter how it affects his chances in the impeachment process or in the next election.

Trump thinks he won the Muller Investigation by constantly attacking Muller and reiterating that there was no complicity and that the whole investigation was a witch-hunt. Now he feels that he can do the same thing with, “no quid pro quo.” His twitter attack on Marie Yavonovitch while she was testifying was a major mistake, but Trump is too ego driven and too lacking in intelligence to understand the damage he did to his own cause. He has chosen his course of action and there is no longer anyone in the administration who can or will tell him he’s wrong.

On one point he is correct. Those who blindly follow him are not open to any understanding of what a degenerate monster he really is.  They literally do not care about any of his negative qualities. They have no vision of what a president should be; they care nothing about whether or not he is damaging the country. They have chosen him and they will stick with him even if he takes this nation and all its people into the sewer he loves to inhabit.

And make no mistake about it. These people are the real haters. When Trump ultimately loses they will try to bring down whatever government replaces him. The problem will not end with a Trump defeat, even if it leads to a Trump in jail. The Trump 35% have been voting for politicians who have betrayed them and sold them out ever since WWII. They are so desperate they voted for a liar who promised them everything and has so far delivered nothing. It’s going to take a generation for them to die off or change their minds. It won’t happen in the time it takes to change administrations.

People don’t want to be wrong, nor will they accept never being right. They will blame their failures and the failures of Trump, as they have the failure of Bush/Cheney on everything and anything they  can point to.

One can understand why the GOP congressmen refuse to accept reality. They are fighting for their cushy jobs. It’s understandable that White Supremacists want to fight for Trump. They want a racist and bigot in the White House. He’s the only President we have had in memory who supported their degenerate position. And it’s understandable why billionaires and those in the fossil fuel business still back Trump because he would rather help his rich friends than try to save the planet. But that represents maybe 5% of the population. What about the other 30% of his base? Is it possible that 30% of the American public is too dumb to walk and chew gum?

Senator Ron Johnson, speaking on Meet the Press, seeming to realize the stupidity of the GOP objections to the impeachment proceedings, but still wanting to get Trump off, despite his despicable conduct, makes the pitch that we should not be exhibiting our dirty laundry, that we should keep this criminal behavior by the President a secret so the American people won’t feel bad about the gangster in the White House and so we won’t look bad to the rest of the world. Won’t look bad?, After stabbing our best Middle East ally in the back, and  abandoning the safety of our planet, how can we look any worse then we do now?

But then Johnson starts whining about how the Democrats were looking to impeach Trump from his first week in office. Well maybe they were. But maybe he deserved it. After all, the first thing he did on entering the White House was lie about the size of the crowd that attended the ceremony. That’s not exactly a noble start.

But that’s when Chuck Todd jumped in to point out that Johnson himself had started to talk about impeaching Hillary Clinton while she was only running for President, so maybe he shouldn’t be using that mode of attack if he wanted to be taken seriously.

That got to Johnson; so much that he spent the next minute or so babbling incoherently to no point.

Again, we have a GOP lackey wanting to convict Democrat Hillary Clinton completely without evidence of anything, while he wants us to ignore the evidence backed attack on our criminal in the White House.

I always get a laugh when Retrumplicans attack Hillary about her personal server when after all these years it is still one of the only servers in the Capital that has not: repeat; has not been hacked.

Johnson finished up his interview by once again stating the obvious; we are a divided nation, but then going on to say that we need to listen to each other. Yeah, Ron, we did and you’re, currently lying.

But when all is said and done, when all the stupid, illogical arguments about why Trump shouldn’t be impeached are left out on the White House lawn to shrivel and die, there will be only one that is at all believable or acceptable. Trump did all these stupid, ego- driven acts because he is too stupid to understand that he was destroying himself. That will be the only excuse for his criminal behavior and the only answer to that will be, yes, but do we want a criminal moron in the White House? I think we all, even the dumb ones, know the answer to that.
