Watching Trump’s press conference on Saturday evening was fascinating. Especially observing Trump during a segment in which Dr. Birx was speaking for a somewhat long period of time. Of course she was actually giving us information, whereas Trump gives us nothing but his uninformed opinions and his campaign bullshit. But what was really interesting was watching him as Dr. Brix took a good while to explain a rather complicated position. He was going out of his mind. He wasn’t listening to her; he wasn’t learning anything from her. He was fidgeting wildly because he wasn’t the center of attention and after all, that was the only reason to be out there instead of playing golf. It was like watching a four year-old who wanted to go out and play, wait for his mother to finish putting on her makeup. Finally he couldn’t wait any longer and he just about pushed her off the stage so he could once again be the center of attention. It’s really pathetic, but then you realize that he’s the President and you get really depressed.

Steve Mnuchin tells us that the President’s only goal is to keep the people of the nation safe and he is planning to do everything in his power to achieve that goal. Okay, when does he stop planning and actually do something? He tells us that tests are coming and they don’t. He tells us that PPE equipment is coming and it doesn’t. He tells us that ventilators are coming and we never see them. How are we to believe any positive news from a man who has lied to us over 16,000 times in three years and how do we believe anything at all coming from the backup to the big liar who has done nothing but kiss that liar’s ass for the same three years? We all know that Trump will say anything as long as it suits his purposes. And even if he wanted to help, his short history in office tells us that he has neither the intelligence to recognize what it is he must do, nor the functionality to get anything done even if he knows what it is he needs to do.
And just to prove he’s always the dumbest guy in the room, Trump called another press conference on Sunday even though he had nothing to say at it. Something, the virus in this case, took away the fat baby’s tranquilizer, otherwise known as his campaign rallies. A roomful of cheering sycophants has always been Trump’s lifeblood. The giant ego that walks like a warthog just can’t do without them and when the pandemic took them away he was desperate to replace them. So now we have fact less news conferences at which the President attacks anyone who asks an intelligent question, and prescribes new drugs to a desperate public; drugs that Trump, with his extensive medical background, deems useable without benefit of tests. It’s humorous that the fat liar in the Oval Office has added “Doctor” to his litany of self-congratulatory titles.

But what’s really interesting, yet very scary is the administration’s evacuation plan, in which anyone who disagrees with the President becomes an immediate target for the door. In just the last week Inspector General Michael Atkinson was fired because he didn’t reveal the identity of the whistleblower that started the Ukraine investigation, and then the heroic Captain of the carrier Theodore Roosevelt was canned because his letter to the Navy Department begging for help for his infected ship, showed up in the San Francisco Chronicle. What kind of a leader was Brett Crozier? I think that was made pretty obvious by the entire crew of his ship lining up and cheering their Captain as he walked down the gangplank. Meanwhile the fat coward in the White House continues to display his ignorance, lack of a presidential presence and general instability at every opportunity.
Crozier was trying to protect his sailors. Trump has never shown any believable effort to protect the people of this nation. Every move he has made was for his own benefit; even though he is not functional enough to make any of them work.

Trump has repeatedly bragged about being the first to issue a travel ban on people coming here from China. That’s a flat out lie! 38 countries issued travel bans before we did. 430,000 people came here from China after Trump knew the virus was running wild over there and over 40,000 came in from China after the ban was announced because of exceptions.
Trump claims that it’s not the government’s job to test. Of course it is. The CDC was in charge of setting up testing. After checking out the CDC’s job on testing, the FDA claimed that if the CDC had been a private company they would have been shut down because of the their gross incompetence. We still have nowhere near the testing apparatus we need. In fact we trail just about every civilized nation in the world.
Trump takes no responsibility for anything. The buck never stops at Trump. He doesn’t seem to understand that this is exactly the reason we have a President and a federal government.
Fighting things like this plague is specifically the job of government. If they can’t do this they have no reason for being. And what about that proverbial “buck”? Every one of the last five presidents before Trump, stated at one point or another in their Presidency, that “the buck” definitely stopped at them. These were men who understood their responsibility. Trump obviously doesn’t. His presidency is a more complete failure than that of any other President in the history of this nation. That’s quite a condemnation when you understand that he had to knock George Bush, whose run was a disaster, out of the box.
Morning Joe has been making a huge deal about the claim that Trump didn’t see the pandemic coming even though he had all kinds of intelligence that should have told him about it. Sorry Joe, Trump did see it coming. He just didn’t care. He was far more interested in his ratings, the Market and his chances in the November election. When Trump says that no one saw it coming, that’s nothing but a lie. Everyone saw it coming, Trump included, but he was more interested in his own personal agenda than the country’s and that was topped only by his obvious lack of intelligence, which kept him from realizing that there could possibly be something more important than his own wants and desires.
If Trump were smart enough he would realize that the cause of a couple of million dead Americans wouldn’t be ignored by the voting public and that such an occurrence will be an absolute killer for all his ambitions.
On another note, it wasn’t bad enough that Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly fired carrier commander Captain Brett Crozier for trying to get help for his infected crew. Then Modly was dumb enough to go on board the ship and in front of the crew, refer to Crozier as “stupid and naïve.” It had already come out that Modly had jumped in and fired Crozier in a pathetic attempt to seek approval from Trump. Modly knew Trump loves people who talk tough because Trump loves to think of himself as a tough guy. I’m talking the kind of tough guy that paid off some doctor to get him out of the draft for an injury about as serious as jock itch.
So Modly made his move and it now appears to have backfired. Yesterday he had to release a statement backing off his comments about Crozier, saying he is not stupid or naïve. Then he got the word that he will himself be facing a Naval Panel looking into his own removal from office. So off course he quit. He did it because that’s what people like Modly do.

This is a President who at the 2016 Republican convention announced to the American public that, “I alone can do it.” Now he tells the American people “I take no responsibility at all” for whatever it is I did or didn’t do. It’s been a long hard fall and he has done his best to take us all with him.

When he finally realized that this country was on the verge of a pandemic, HHS Secretary Alex Azar tried immediately to reach the President. It only took him two weeks to do it. Why two weeks? It turns out the two week lag was because he wasn’t one of Trump’s lapdogs. It seems, no matter what job you have in our government, you don’t have access to the President until you have kissed his ass and told the world what a great guy he is. Azar hadn’t as yet had a chance to do his obeisance. When he finally reached Trump to warn him about the real and present dangers of a pandemic, all Trump was interested in was how soon we could get flavored vapeing products back on the market. Why was Trump so interested in this? He doesn’t smoke. But he does count votes and he thought that banning these products had hurt his favorable ratings among those too dumb to realize that flavored vapeing could hurt them. Or had he invested in their stock?
And are his investments the same reason that Trump is promoting an untested drug to fight Covid-19? The smart money says yes; based on the holdings of the Trump family trust.

Last month Donald Trump actually admitted on TV that if we have big voter turnout in our fall elections, Republicans would never win another election again, and just to prove he finally said something accurate, the entire Retrumplican Party has surged forward and forced Wisconsin voters to go out in the middle of a pandemic in order to exercise their right to vote. This happened because the Wisconsin Supreme Court and its legislative body stopped any attempt to move the election to June or to allow an extension of write-in voting,
Wisconsin has become one of the most crooked states in the nation when it comes to rigging the vote. In the 2018 election the districts were so gerrymandered the legislature ended up with a 2/3rds GOP majority despite the fact that the Democrats had 180,000 more votes than the Republicans. That’s election rigging! That makes Florida and Georgia look like honest amateurs.
Then I watched in awe as the head of the Republican Party in Wisconsin did a TV spot in the parking lot outside a polling place. This clown dressed in complete hazmat gear and looking like he was about to enter a tent full of Ebola infected bats, had the incredible gall to be telling people to get out and vote because it’s 100% safe. Really? You want me to believe that bullshit, then take off the outfit and stand in the same line that your party forced thousands of voters to stand in, in order to exercise their right to vote.
It is absolutely imperative that Democrats start yesterday to insure the November election against GOP rigging attempts based on the effects of this pandemic.
