In the last two decades, as a result of the Electoral College, the Presidency of the United States has twice gone to men, who did not receive a majority of the votes cast. Both times they were Republican and both times their administrations ended in catastrophe. The first was George Bush who engaged the nation in two wars we had no business fighting and then crashed the economy. The second was Donald Trump whose only piece of legislation was a tax bill that crushed all who are were not rich. He followed that by fleeing his responsibilities when the nation was hit by a catastrophic pandemic that led to an economic crash in which we are still struggling. He concluded his disastrous presidency by inciting seditious mobs to sack the Capitol in a futile attempt to change the honest results of an election, which by any and all standards he resoundingly lost.
In four years Donald Trump has cost the GOP the House, the Senate and the Presidency and may have split the party so badly it will take years to reform it into a winning team. That’s a legacy that might drive a normal man to suicide. Unfortunately there’s nothing normal about Trump.

With four days left in his catastrophic administration Donald Trump rambles around the White House growling at his lackeys and picking over the bones of former associates. The latest reversal of favor, after Mike Pence and Kevin McCarthy were stabbed in the back and pushed off the cliff, seems to be Rudy Giuliani who has done more to destroy any career he may have had as a serious lawyer than anyone else in the profession. Rudy played the fool, lied the big lie and publicly demeaned himself, all in the service off the worst President in the history of the country.
And as a reward it seems that Trump has instructed his mignons not to pay Rudy for service far beyond anything anyone with any sense of self-respect would consider doing in service to someone who has repeatedly lied and dishonored his post to a degree that no President in history ever thought of.
It seems that Trump is now blaming Rudy for the speeches that Trump himself made encouraging the rioters that attacked the Capitol. It’s obvious that Trump is right in this accusation. I mean neither Rudy nor Pence grabbed the fat liar by the tongue and dragged him away from the microphone so it’s obviously their fault he led an attempted coup. And even as Rudy, Pence and McCarthy slide down the ramp into the toilet of history a new sucker emerges to take their places, his lips attached firmly to Trump’s rump. This sucker’s name is John Eastman; a conservative lawyer who told Trump that Pence could legally block the certification of the Biden vote. Of course it’s natural that Trump would be cleaving to Eastman, a moron who gave him false advice but advice that Trump wanted to hear. This of course, is how the fat sociopath works. He cares nothing about the accuracy of advice just so long as it’s what he wants to hear. So Eastman’s blunder has put Pence in the toilet and now Eastman is moving to replace Giuliani. Don’t get me wrong. I have no sympathy for any of these scumbags. They are all, lying turds that have abandoned honor and conscience to follow a degenerate swine that cares nothing for our nation, only for himself.
As a sidelight the faculty of Chapman University, where Eastman is currently teaching, is demanding his removal because of statements he made calling for last Wednesday’s seditious riots at the Capitol.
Trump, who is now into his second impeachment, a new record in this country, has done nothing since November 4thexcept play golf and rave about how he really got all the votes. We all know that he did nothing but lie for four years but at least something partially true would creep into his ravings once in a while. Now there is not even an inkling of truth in anything he babbles. The question seems to be; what will happen to this human disaster? Once he is no longer protected by the presidency, which he trashed, he will be liable to all manner of state and federal litigation as well as lawsuits by any and everyone with any kind of legal axe to grind. He will be pursued relentlessly by all kinds of state prosecutors and even while this is happening he will be hard pressed to find the wherewithal to pay the exorbitant legal fees that will follow all that court time.
In conjunction with all the legal battles he is finding his sources of income disappearing. The few banks that formerly did business with him have cut him off and states, led by New York, are cancelling contracts for various services that have been performed by his companies. In that vein, The PGA has withdrawn one of its major tournaments from his chain of golf courses.
Trump has been busy hinting that he will run again in 2024, but if the impeachment ends in conviction that fantasy will follow the others, as will income for support, protection and travel that would normally come to an ex-President.
With short money, no shot at the presidency and the real potential of jail time, Trump will see his dream of relevancy trampled into the dust of the Mar-a-Largo parking lot. It will be a fitting end for one who ignored his responsibilities and strove for nothing but to fulfill his own desires. He has truly been the worst president in the history of the nation.

There has been so much talk about Trump not leaving the White House, especially from people like Bill Maher, that a mention by Nicole Wallace on Thursday about trucks delivering empty packing boxes to the White House caught my eye. With that mention came some footage of a young couple walking out of the building with a sculptural bust of Abe Lincoln. The couple wasn’t recognizable but all I could think was, this miserable son of a bitch has almost destroyed the country and now he’s got his aides stealing the art from the White House. It’s as sleazy as it gets but for Trump it’s so perfect.

There has been a great deal of discussion this week over what was going on in the White House as the Capitol was being invaded by MAGA rioters. There also seems to be consternation about what was and wasn’t done by Trump while the attempt on a coup was going on. I don’t understand any of this. Trump instigated and led this whole thing! He demanded that his followers come to DC and stop the electoral certification. He promised, a lie, that he would lead the parade down Pennsylvania Ave. Why the hell did anyone expect him to do anything except sit in front of his TV and root for the rioters? He caused the whole thing. Why would he want to stop it? Has Trump ever been moved by violence, except to cheer it on and offer to pay its legal fees? Has he ever shown any empathy for those in danger or under siege? Has he ever had one thought for anyone but himself?
Trump caused this and he was enjoying it until someone made him understand that he might be held responsible and that would make the impeachment case against him even stronger. Even then he made only a wet rag of a response.

What’s really interesting is the way many huge corporations are beginning to abandon Trump, even before he leaves office. Considering how awful his actions or lack of same have been since he infected the White House, it’s kind of surprising how strong the reaction to Wednesday has been.
TV screens across the country are filled with the logos of corporations that have stopped their support of Trump and in some cases all political donations. Deutche Bank, to which he owes over $300 million in due loans, is cutting him off. I watched marketing genius Donny Deutsch lay it out the way I have believed it will play. Donny claims that Trump has finally offended the business establishment to a point where they just want nothing to do with him. That’s financial death in the business world where everything depends on partnerships. Every deal is the result of people who control different aspects of what is needed to make that deal work and if no one wants to put their name next to Trump, no deal can be made that involves him. That is financial death.
