Nancy Pelosi gave Kevin McCarthy 5 seats on the House Jan. 6th investigation Committee and instead of being a gentleman, something of which he is completely incapable of being, and providing five functional members of his party (not an easy job), McCarthy spat in her face by naming Jim Banks and Jim Jordan, a pair of semi-literate mad dogs whose only function is to disrupt and undermine the capabilities of any group to which they attach themselves. They are like barnacles on the bottom of a boat, their only function being the employment of those hired to remove them. Pelosi did the right thing in refusing to accept this pair of rabid troublemakers who are constitutionally and intellectually incapable of advancing the goals of the panel.
Of course, McCarthy doesn’t want the facts that the panel will invariably uncover to reach the public. He is already on record both accusing and excusing the degenerate Donald Trump of causing the riots, which no matter what else he comes up with now, makes him a liar. He knows that no matter the revelations, they will hurt the GOP cause.
Pelosi’s rejection of the diseased pair will allow McCarthy to whine about how partisan the panel will be, but in this day and age when the Republican Party has done everything in its power to eliminate every iota of bi-partisanship from our government, that is a pretty futile cry.

I wrote two blogs recently about stupidity; stupidity in refusing to take a vaccine that might save lives, stupidity in believing the lies of a degenerate sociopath about everything that passes through his diseased mind and stupidity about acting in ways that are harmful to ones self just because ones political heroes tell them to do so.
Well, maybe I overstate it. Maybe that GOP base is as much misinformed, as it is stupid.
This week America had a chance to watch the testimony of the police officers that defended the Capitol on Jan 6th as a fascist mob instigated by Donald Trump attacked the building in a vain attempt to keep congress from doing its constitutional duty and certifying an election in the face of Trump’s Big Lie.
It’s unbelievable that some of the same members of Congress, whose lives were being protected by these heroic cops, are the ones to now disparage their service and actually mock them.
It is excruciatingly infuriating to see so called news organizations favored by Trump and his fascist backers attacking the service of these hero cops, making fun of them and calling them, paid actors.
So maybe I was being a little too harsh, but only a little, when I accused them of being hardcore ignorant. It can be difficult discerning the truth when you are constantly assaulted by the lies of those you trust to bring you information. This has occurred because certain fascist based news organizations in this country have rejected any attempt at publishing the truth and have therefore abandoned their franchise of functional, truthful information distribution. It is because of this that this blog has long demanded license revocation of all news organizations that are owned by foreign sources. This is a direct reference to Rupert Murdoch, the Aussie billionaire who has made much of his billions befouling the truth on his various media outlets on several continents. Murdoch started his infamous career turning England’s news business into a porn distribution outfit. He is bringing it to a hopefully permanent end in this country through his fact free broadcasting and publishing over Fox News and the NY Post

With violence, especially gun violence spiking all across the country the wrong forces are again making the most noise about solutions that are not solutions.
When a man who should never have been a cop murdered George Floyd the nation erupted in righteous protest and demanded a new approach to policing our nations streets. Unfortunately the wrong voices came up with a catchy phrase that became the cry of some overzealous people. I say unfortunately because it was the wrong cry. It was a destructive cry and ”Defund the Police” almost completely destroyed the criminal justice system and almost cost Joe Biden the election.
No one is satisfied with our current police situation but an intelligent look at the problem leads both sides of the spectrum to the same conclusion. We have to recruit and train smarter cops and we have to integrate them more completely into the community. Then, and only then, will we be able to better attack the gun problems we now face.
And where did this sudden spike in gun violence come from?
Well, there are a hundred reasons being touted but I have one simple theory that I think goes with where the world is now. The chaos spread by the lawless Trump administration, coupled with the refusal of a congress bought and paid for by the gun manufacturing lobby, to legislate any kind of real controls on gun use, has flooded our communities with guns, making it a simple task to arm ones self and just shoot up the neighborhood at the sign of any pique.

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez was out on the town the other night rattling garbage cans and making empty noise about the contention that Joe Biden is not making progress fast enough to suit her and her “squad.” The Squad is a six member accumulation of angry, often wrong headed progressives that were in fact elected to make noise and agitate but who started off the last election cycle with the “Defund the Police” campaign, quite possibly the most dunderheaded political concept ever, especially when you consider it was constructed during a period of rising crime.
It damn near cost the Dems the election. It definitely cost them a lot of state elections. But instead of shutting up, sitting back and recalculating, they have just made more empty noise. Last week’s attack on Biden’s functionality is just one example. Biden has done more in six months than Trump did in his four years or for that matter, Obama in his last six years.
No, he isn’t gong to get everything he wants in his current infrastructure bill but he’ll get a hell of a lot more then we had before and he’ll follow it up with another bill and another after that, which in their accumulation will move faster and further than anything we have seen in our government since Lyndon Johnson.
There is a definite place in our government for our progressive legislators but it’s not getting in the way of progress. Ocasio-Cortez knows what we should be going after. She has to find the right way to make her demands known without frightening the middle of the road voters that we need to get a better than 9 vote majority in the House and a single tie breaker in the Senate.
The GOP has done everything imaginable to drive all but their most basic crazies over to the Democratic side and still they threaten to make progress in the 2022 election. If the Dems can’t expand their leads in both houses in the next election they should just pack it up. It would sure help a lot if the progressives could get it together enough to come up with a helpful, intelligent, functional strategy to get votes.
