So they got it done. The House finally passed the Infrastructure Bill and they will send it to the White House where Biden will sign it.What will the American people get from it? $110 billion to repair and replace roads, bridges and highways, $66 billion to boost rail transportation, $55 billion to improve the nations water supply, mainly by replacing all lead pipes. Then there’s $60 billion to modernize the power grid and additional billions to expand Internet nationwide. There is additional money to promote green energy and deal with the nation’s sources of pollution. On top of that there is $7.5 billion to build a national network of vehicle charging stations and roughly $50 billion to respond to national emergencies like droughts, forest fires and floods.
That’s not the end, but it is a strong indication that despite their differences, the Democrats occasionally figure out how to get something done. Now they have to get the Reconciliation Bill over the top.
The GOP can rave and bullshit and lie all they want but the facts are incontrovertible. Going back to the beginning of Obama, that’s 13 years, Democrats have passed Obamacare, saved the American auto industry, pulled us out of the Bush engineered crash, passed the COVID relief bill and now the desperately needed Infrastructure bill and if Mitch McConnell can keep his grimy hands in his pockets, they will soon pass the even more needed Build Back Better Bill. During that entire 13 year stretch the only thing the GOP has managed to pass was a tax bill that helped the rich and major corporations get richer. Why do they still have a base made up of middle class and blue-collar workers? Are they all masochists? Why else would they vote against their own interests? That is the most puzzling question of this political era. Sure Biden got 7 million more votes than Trump, but why did all those other people vote for Trump?
Is it possible that they were drawn to Trump by his bigotry, his misogyny and his gross personal behavior, or was it his greed, his criminal approach to all matters or his inability to do anything but cause chaos?
This is a clown that never really wanted to be president and then committed treason to try to keep the job. He hates to lose, will do anything no matter how degenerate to keep from losing and yet he has never won a popular election. Don’t forget, Donald Trump was elected by means of the democratic process. Since then he has been able to create chaos under its auspices. Maybe it’s time we started looking around for a new governmental process that doesn’t encourage criminal behavior under the guise of constitutional freedoms.

One of the most untrue comments, and I have heard about Joe Biden in the last couple of weeks is that he ran as a conservative and he is governing like a progressive. I have heard this accusation from Republicans and members of the media. It would be a functional criticism if it were true but like most GOP political chatter; it’s just a lie. Biden said he would end the war in Afghanistan, and he did. He said he would pass an infrastructure bill and he did. He said he would pass a human infrastructure bill and he’s trying even as we speak. Hell, he’s actually doing what most politicians never do; he’s fulfilling campaign promises! Who ever heard of such a thing? What’s more he is proving that Democrats actually understand that the concept of governing has everything to do with passing legislation that helps people live more rewarding lives. That’s opposed to the Republicans who seem to be under the mistaken impression that legislating in any form except to make the rich richer is a mortal sin.
Just look at the results of the Senate vote on the Infrastructure Bill. Thirty- seven Republicans voted against it. This is a bill that no one in their right mind would vote against. It will clearly help our economy, and our ability as a nation to compete in the marketplace all over the world. But 37 Republicans voted against it. Why? Because it didn’t specifically enrich the corporations whose lobbyists directly pay for their campaigns. These guys have no interest in helping their constituents, only in enriching themselves.
Now look at the human infrastructure bill that is coming up. Not one single GOP vote will be cast to support it. Same reason, even tough huge numbers of their constituents would be aided by its provisions.
It’s very simple. The GOP has abandoned its base. It very simply finds it much easier to lie to the voters and collect the largess available from big Pharma, fossil fuel and the military/industrial complex then it is to work for their salaries and try to help those that elected them.

Cedric Richmond, advisor to President Joe Biden beat the living shit out of Bill Hemmer, Chris Wallace’s replacement, on Face the Nation this Sunday. While he was at it, he bitch-slapped Fox Network as a bunch of degenerate liars.

Critical Race Theory. Does anyone really know what the hell it is? Does anyone care? The Republicans are blowing it up to the size of the Hindenburg; for what? No one is teaching it in any of our grade or high schools so why is everyone getting their balls in an uproar? The reality: It’s a good issue for the GOP to whine about because all those dummies who believe their bullshit can now get enraged about another cultural issue that has no basis.
Even Bill Maher was babbling about it on his show Friday night, talking about little white kids being traumatized by having to lear “Critical Race Theory.” Where? Where the hell is it actually being taught? Does anyone know?

Watched Fareed Zacharia interview Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s Security Advisor and it’s immediately clear that Sullivan is one of the smartest guys to work in any administration in the last 80 years. They discussed everything from climate change to trade with China,, to the end of the Afghan war and the problems with getting Cuba free. Sullivan had logical, reasonable, functional answers to everything. It’s such a pleasure to watch an intelligent person discuss important matters without having to put up with a lot of self-serving bullshit. Compare Sullivan’s views with anything that McCarthy, McConnell, Scott, Lee or any of the other lying, conniving GOP leaders have to say. It will turn your stomach, but you will understand how Trump, surrounded by this coterie of snakes, almost made his dictatorship work.
