I watched a movie called Licorice Pizza last night and then today I found out it won best picture along with a couple of other awards from the National Board of Review. I don’t know what the National Board normally reviews for a living but I can’t believe it’s movies. I found the awards disconcerting because I had thought it was probably the worst picture I had ever seen. Now, I don’t usually go in for bests or worsts in my entertainment experiences but this boring, stupid, plotless piece of trash, really created a new category for inept incompetence.
Yes, I’m an old fart and I tend to look askance at much of the current music and film but I’ve not had such a negative reaction to anything I’ve viewed lately even though much of it has left me ambivalent.
So I decided to consider my antipathy. Was I really one of those old grouches who saw no value in anything that has been done since the Renaissance?

I guess were both old farts as I am in the same darkness as you are about “Licorice Pizza”!!!!! As to all the rest of the Urban C. blog – am as angry at our ineffectualness with the oil crisis as your statement.
