We all know Kevin McCarthy has repeatedly denied reality in his approach to his job, to Donald Trump and to Jan. 6th. And now he wants us to believe that Thomas Edison never existed, and electricity has never progressed past the realm of Benjamin Franklin.
Is it possible that McCarthy has so little understanding of modern technology that he has no knowledge of the process of recording sound? After 1/6, McCarthy indulged in a series of statements and phone calls in which he openly discussed Donald Trump’s responsibility for the attack on the capital and his need to resign the Presidency before he was impeached yet again. Now he tells us it never happened. He denies it all. BUT IT’S ALL BEEN RECORDED! There’s no denying it! It’s just like “There’s no crying in baseball.” It’s just true because it is.
It’s not like when Trump tells us he led the mob and then the next day tells us he didn’t. That’s just Trump lying; an evil being in its natural habitat. But with McCarthy we don’t have that base of knowledge, that familiarity that allows us to accept the new McCarthyism when it wanders so far from the norm. “McCarthyism,” that’s a term to turn one’s stomach. And now are we to suffer through it again? Is another vile McCarthy to be allowed to ignore the facts and attempt to destroy our democracy just to advance his twisted political goals?

It’s interesting how today’s media has strayed so far from its mission that the relevancy of what it reports no longer seems to matter. Today I was looking at Kevin McCarthy and Hunter Biden, neither of whom has done anything even remotely important, but both of whom are featured in their opposition media on almost a daily basis. Why is this happening? Because the current media is lazy and stupid and dedicated to one party or another instead of being dedicated to bringing us the news.
If you indulge yourself with the left wing media like the Washington Post or the NY Times in the last couple of weeks you would have been ingesting a daily dose of Kevin McCarthy. As seen above you would already know far more than is necessary about what Kevin said, did and denies.
If you read the NY Post you will have gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of Hunter Biden, his public and private lives, and every business deal of which he ever came within spitting distance.
If you read all three of these papers and glance at others you will be up to your eyeballs in enough Hunter and Kevin trivia to last one several lifetimes. But the real question is why? Who cares? The people who read Page 6? Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence knows that nothing Hunter or Kevin have ever done is even vaguely significant and the stories of their exploits and travails have little or no significance in the real world in which people actually live. None of Hunter’s or Kevin’s supposed offenses will ever land either in a cell and their own political parties laugh them off.
So why do these stories take up so much space? Simple! The respective media outlets that spend so much space worrying about what this pair of buffoons are doing, each have a political ax to grind and they mistakenly imagine that someone other than themselves has any real interest in Buffoon #1 or Buffoon #2.

And of course as long as the GOP allows, nay, encourages these activities to continue, our country and the world will continue to be a place where a significant majority of the people live under subhuman conditions, while the fortunate few piss away life-giving resources that are desperately needed.

The 1/6 Committee is planning eight hearings in June that they claim will reveal to the public all the nasty, illegal garbage that the GOP has been lying to the American people about for the last six years.
The question is, how effective will these hearings be? Considering that most people would rather watch paint dry, who outside of political junkies will actually watch these hearings? Will it even matter that what they have to tell the American people is the most important message of the election season?
We are approaching the mid-term election and it’s clear to anyone who cares to pay attention, that the GOP is going to be running a team of handpicked Trump sociopaths who, even while recognizing the former president as a criminal degenerate, have managed to kiss his ass enough times to get his endorsement for various state and federal offices.
It’s amazing how many of these gutless punks were willing to go after Trump when it looked like Mitch McConnell was going to cut him down but are now on their knees, begging for his support.
Sure they’re liars. Of course they shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near public office, but that’s not the way our forefathers set up the system. We will allow any criminal piece of slime to take office as long as he has the majority of votes as awarded by the multi-flawed Electoral College. The requirements don’t say anything about him being honest or even sane. Look what we just threw out of the White House. He is a man who should not be allowed to eat in the same restaurant as honest people and yet despite getting fewer votes than any of his opponents he actually got to be president, primarily because of the previously identified, non-functional Electoral College system. Now, because he has never recognized the difference between truth and falsehood, he is able to disrupt our democratic system in ways we never would have imagined a couple of decades back.
It is because of this social disruption in our system that we find our democracy at the mercy of twisted intellectual misfits that previously would never have been allowed walk the streets without a leash.
For the 1/6 Committee hearings in June to be of any use to our democracy they must be more than just another set of boring TV hearings watched only by political junkies and shut ins. Somehow the Democrats must conjure up an entertaining, suspenseful, dramatic documentary that creates an involving outline, which rivets its viewers and force-feeds them the truth. Only then will the Democrats have a decent shot at retaining the House and Senate. If they can’t make this happen, they will be overrun by maniacal GOP drones, intent on espousing fantasies of Trumpian untruths that feed the degenerate imaginations of such potential diseases as Greg Abbott, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ron DeSantis and Jim Jordan.
Somehow, the Democrats must also espouse the causes of those few GOP outlaws who are not running with the support of Trump in districts where Democrats will stand absolutely no chance.
