Memet Oz, another of Trump’s losers, kept telling us that he was not a politician, that he was a surgeon. Okay, so now he can go back to an operating room, where he can wait for some fool to be dumb enough to walk into a room where he is holding a knife.

I’m really bummed out by the GOP’s big lie about the economy and inflation. I mean, it’s obvious that inflation was helped along by the Trump administration and was egged on by Trump’s denial of the existence of COVID until it was too far along to stop. Yet instead of standing up like men and taking the hit, they try to blame it on Biden. But that’s typical GOP so why get upset? Maybe, now that the GOP election noise is behind us, people will begin to grasp that inflation is an international problem and as such can’t be blamed on one nation or even a couple of nations. If you’re really looking for a whipping boy how about Putin? He started the war that is one of the three major movers of inflation but he’s buddy/buddy with Trump, so the GOP won’t point to him.

The GOP made a lot if electioneering noise about their plans to do all kinds of stuff that would benefit the American people, but a look at their history tells us it is rife with examples of doing nothing but pushing for laws that would help the rich get richer. I watched Glenn Youngkin, Governor of Virginia talking about how the GOP will help the poor and middle class solve their problems with inflation. Really? Can anyone remember even one instance of the GOP helping the poor or the middle class achieve anything? The only agenda of Youngkin’s GOP buddies seems to be about impeaching Biden and all his cabinet while trying to hang his son. After voting to not impeach Trump for all his actual crimes in office, it would be damned ridiculous for them to talk about impeaching Biden, considering all the good he has done for the country in his first two years, but that’s how the Republican’s operate. And what’s all this nonsense about indicting Hunter Biden? Sure, he’s the President’s son and a very defective one, almost as defective as Trump’s pair. I don’t know why presidents seem to attract relatives who can’t walk and chew gum but neither Hunter nor the Trump brats are the first and probably will not be the last.

All I hear from the GOP is “Inflation and Crime,” Both are super important issues so it’s not surprising. Our inflation numbers are much better than most of the world, but the GOP keeps hammering at it, yet never bothering to come up with even one solution.
It’s the same on crime where the GOP has really run off the mountain. Yes, crime numbers are up from what they were a few years ago but that is in large part because the criminals have more guns, and they have those guns because Republicans refuse to vote stronger gun laws in congress. Every piece of legislation the Democrats try to pass is stymied by members of the GOP. These same lying slime, then accuse the Dems of being soft on crime, even as they cash those checks from the NRA and major weapons manufacturers. If you give guns to crooks, they will use them to break the law. And don’t think you can protect your home by owning a gun. Maybe, one out of one-hundred-gun owners has the training and the balls to stop an armed man who breaks into their home. Even those who are trained freeze up when the bullets start to fly. I remember a statistic from WWII stating that only one in seven trained riflemen would fire his weapon in combat and I think I can safely assume that there are very few trained riflemen in your house. So, if you don’t take the guns from the criminals, they will shoot you with them. You are voting to increase crime, not limit it.

So, while the Republicans are raving about how the Democrats caused inflation, they are also telling us that they will solve that problem. Their solution, not surprisingly, is to end Social Security and Medicare. Really? Do they really think that’s the answer? Because if they succeed, the American public is in for the greatest screwing they have ever gotten from the party that has been busy screwing them for the last 50 years.

So, the word around GOP circles is that the sociopath from Mar-a-Lago was wandering around the banquet hall blaming everybody he could find for the decimation of the candidates he pushed into the election. The funniest one, according to Jimmy Kimmel, was Trump’s attack on Melania for backing Mehmet Oz. That’s right folks! The destruction of the Republican Party can now be left at the feet of the former First lady. After all, it couldn’t possibly be Donald’s fault. He never makes a mistake.
The big question is, who will Trump pick to take the blame for the Red Wave that never happened? The guess here is it will have to be Kevin McCarthy. Does that mean McCarthy will be backing Ron DeSantis?
DeSantis did very well in a bid for a job he will soon abandon in his bid for the bigger job of President. He will be the one trying to chop Trump off at the knees. DeSantis is a piece of shit himself but he’s not even close to being in the same category as Trump.

Part of the legislation that Biden and the Democrats have already passed includes a new CCC, the first since the Great Depression. Originally it was called the Civilian Conservation Corps and over 3 million young men joined and stayed employed until they went into the army in 1942. The CCC was one of the great builders of our infrastructure, constructing roads, parks, bridges, ports, and all sorts of popular amenities all over the country. They had a design style that was all their own and their work is still visible all over the country. Only a few hundred feet from my house in Manhattan is the West Side Highway, which turns into the Henry Hudson Parkway and then the Saw Mill River Parkway. It is a typical example of the stone and massive wood construction style employed by the CCC’s designers and engineers. Right across the river, north of the GW Bridge, is the Palisade Interstate Parkway, which copied its NY predecessor a little later in the same style. It’s a style that lasts and retains its beauty. The new CCC as mandated in the current legislation will be available for much of the new infrastructure work as well as the massive construction that will be needed to accomplish the transition from fossil to renewable fuel. It’s a brilliant idea and just one of the much-needed changes brought to us by Biden and the Democratic congress. Of course, all that will probably stop for at least two years as an obstructionist House tries to undo whatever it can of the good work Biden and the Dems did for this country in the last two.
