Take That Record to the Bank

Now that the various balloons have cleared our skies maybe the media will admit to just a bit of chicanery. I mean it was an air balloon that we treated like a rocket ship filled with nuclear bombs.

With all the stories circulating right now it’s more than weird that the media would decide to make this Chinese balloon the second coming of 9/11. It’s kind of why the public is losing faith in the media and why they are willing to believe liars like Trump, Cruz, Hawley, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. I mean you have to believe someone, don’t you? When Fox News flat out lies, when GOP congressmen depend on whoppers instead of facts, when Progressive media wallows in woke, where the hell does the average guy go for truth?

The immediate suggestion is to make all news programing commercial free, the way it used to be when the barons of media worried about believability. They didn’t always worry about truth, even then, but they did want to be believed. Now they just don’t give a shit. Now it’s about numbers and ratings and no one is trying to measure the truth. So, we get thousands of angry, not too bright, bigots on the steps of the capitol trying to break and enter, a story that got actually got more coverage than the balloons , but then it was a real story.

Biden brought up a great point about the media continually prattling about stuff that brings the country down. Yes, we are living in a time when there is a great deal of bad shit going on, but there is also a great deal of good that we just seem to be ignoring. Biden has been responsible for a lot of that good, which is why he brings up the media’s ignoring of it. He does, after all, want to get reelected.

I’ve written about what Biden has done as well as the fact that he doesn’t seem to get much credit for it. It is definitely a reality, and it is important.

In the two years before the GOP took back the House, Biden has been responsible for passing more legislation than anyone since FDR, and that legislation has been dammed important. It has made the lives of the America people much better.

It started with the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan which gave low & middle-income Americans a $1,400 payment to help fund basic necessities during the COVID crisis. It also extended the $300 a week unemployment benefit to some 9.7 million people who were out of work, temporarily extended the child tax credit program, allocated $7.25 billion for small business loans and gave $2.13 billion in grants for state educational agencies. While he was doing this, his administration hooked up with the Center for Disease Control to administer and provide COVID vaccinations.

Along with this legislation Biden signed a $1 trillion bi-partisan infrastructure bill that includes provisions for the spending of $285 billion for repairing bridges, roadways, airports, and other public amenities, the spending of which will provide over a million jobs. There will also be allocations of $65 billion for broadband internet, $73 billion for power infrastructure and $55 billion for clean water.

In addition, Biden has passed the first major gun-safety bill in decades. Along with that came the Chips Act which will provide $53 billion to manufacture semi-conductors for the varied technology necessary to make us competitive in the coming decades.

So where is all this money going to come from?

Well, to answer that, Biden passed the Inflation Reduction Act that provides:

*$360 billion for climate initiative to promote clean energy technologies

*$300 billion in new revenue from corporate taxes.

*$80 billion for IRS to modernize and audit the wealthy. What so you think, maybe a couple of trillion here?

*a $2,000 annual cap on prescription drug costs.

Sure, it’s a lot to consider but think about how much it will get done and how much it will affect those with low and middle incomes, who for the first time in a long time will be receiving real help from their government. This wasn’t Trump making the rich, including himself, richer. This is a president who understands that many Americans need help and has gone on a crusade to get them that help.

Should Biden go to East Palestine? YES! Without question. No, he won’t actually accomplish much there. He’s got a great disaster team working to help the people and clean up the mess. But there’s a lot to be said for morale and Biden is a great morale builder. He’s just the kind of guy who can stand in front of a crowd and make them feel that everything’s going to be okay. That’s an invaluable asset and the Dems can’t afford to waste it.

Emily Kohrs the forewoman of the Georgia Grand Jury investigating Trump’s attempt to manufacture almost 1200 fake votes for the 2020 elections is a moron. This 30-year-old imbecile who is a raving Trump fan, big surprise, may have ruined the DA’s case against the ex-president. Trump’s lawyers claim he did nothing wrong, regardless of the fact that he has been recorded making a call to the head of the election process in GA asking him to find an additional number of votes.

For one thing, some social media commentators’ have begun hinting that she may be a witch. Yeah, and Marjorie Taylor Greene may be sane, but do we really want to go there?

Kohrs giggles and simpers like a five -year-old meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time. It’s obvious that she is overwhelmed by the concept of appearing on the tube and the celebrity that brings. She volunteered for a job that no one else on the jury wanted and so they got a person who is possibly the least qualified to do an adult job.

So, because of the failure of any qualified grand juror to step forward and assume the foreman’s job, this historic grand jury will limp into the future led by a barely lucid forewoman.

The CPAC convention blundered on last week, a playbook for those who should be physically gagged in order to stop violent nonsense in any logical society.  It was one nutcase after another, babbling about imagined, often non-existent ills. One wonders who voted for these troglodytes’, who wanted to be represented by the accused child pornographer, Matt Gaetz or the raving, would-be cult leader Marjorie Taylor Greene? How does anyone consider following a series of presidential candidates who attack everything that Donald Trump stands for but abandon all their positions when asked if they will vote against him if he wins the primary. I love it when you hear one of these clowns tell us that he will stick with Trump because of his plan. Is that the one where he shuts down unemployment to build a new golf course in Central Park or the one in which he goes in the oil business with Putin? Maybe he’ll come up with a new one when he speaks on Saturday afternoon?

He didn’t.
