Bits & Pieces #134

So it goes on and on and Trump after three months of denial based on his chances of getting elected again has finally decided that there may be something of real danger out there. And of course, as soon as he does, the Retrumplican ass kissers out there are falling in line and discovering that this thing can really kill you.

Only now have the Governors of Florida, Georgia and Mississippi stood up on heir hind legs and ordered their constituents to stay at home, Texas, not so much.  Of course when Georgia Governor, Brian Kemp, finally decided that he was going to tell his people to get the hell off the streets he was dumb enough to explain that he had only found out the day before that we could be passing the virus around among people who were actually not sick. Really? This dumb turd just found out about this yesterday? Where the hell has his head been the last three months? Probably up Trump’s ass. What’s really amazing is that he said this standing a few miles from CDC headquarters, which is based in Atlanta.

Trump and these illiterate followers will absolutely be the cause of thousands of deaths.

Meanwhile Trump, who did nothing about this plague for three months because he thought news of it would hurt his electoral chances, attacks Governors who are actually doing something to fight the virus while his months of denials are still encouraging the most ignorant among us to ignore any kind of safe behavior.         Groups of mindless partygoers and churchgoers still congregate and pass the virus around among each oher and those who may come in future contact with them. What does it take to convince these morons that they could die, or worse, cause others to die?

There are now a million cases worldwide, a quarter of a million in the US where we have suffered over 8000 deaths at the time of this writing.

Two cruise boats arrived in Florida this week, both with passengers suffering from the virus. One ship has already had a couple of deaths. They have negotiated for a landing with Governor DeSantis but the question remains, why weren’t these ships forced to go back to their original port, and even more important why did these people go on a cruise two months into a worldwide pandemic. One boat sailed on March 7, from Buenos Aires, destined for San Antonio, Chili, where they were expected to land on March 21. When the virus broke out they were refused a landing in Chili and subsequently headed north where the second ship, The Rotterdam, met them. Asymptomatic passengers were transferred to that ship before both proceeded north. There is no place in the world more inviting for the spread of disease than the enclosed and cramped spaces on a ship. To actually seek out such a petri dish on which to spend your vacation is probably the most brain dead decision imaginable. These people are beyond stupid and should not have been inflicted on a busy community like Miami, which has already been endangered by the lack of action by it’s, just as stupid, Governor.

And because the White House has lagged so far behind the rest of the world, because it has encouraged its followers into so much brain dead and dangerous behavior, there are already hints of congressional investigations into the actions of Trump and the Retrumplicans. There are ugly noises, in and around congress to the effect that all the blatantly incorrect, grossly incompetent orders and messages that have come out of the Oval Office must be accounted for, that someone has to pay the bill for the lives lost by these unconscionable actions by Trump and his staff. The biggest accusation will certainly be that Trump ignored or tried to hide facts about the deadly pandemic.

And then there’s the unbelievable situation whereby the Captain of an aircraft carrier has been fired because of plea he made for help in combating the virus that was running amok aboard his ship. Captain Brett Crozier of the USS Theodore Roosevelt was relieved of duty this week by Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly because of a letter he sent to the Pentagon, which ended up being published by a California newspaper.

“We are not at war. Sailors do not need to die. If we do not act now we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted asset-our sailors.”

Thus wrote Captain Crozier in a plea for help in dealing with the almost 100 sailors that had come down with the virus, on his ship.

Modly is quoted as saying, he had no doubt Crozier thought he was doing the right thing, but we are in a kind of war and relieving Crozier of his command was in the best interest of the United States Navy. Sure it was; trying to function with a ship full of sick and dying sailors is always in the best interest of the Navy. Modly, another of Donald Trump’s useless, completely devoid of background or experience appointees wouldn’t know an aircraft carrier from a canoe let alone what’s in the best interest of the Navy. Fascinatingly, Modly just happened to mention that no one in the administration had any part in the firing.

Now why would he do that? Why would he even think to bring such a thing up? If what he claims isn’t true, and who believes it is, who do you suppose might have put the knife in Crozier’s back? Is there someone that we have seen do this over and over in the past three years? I’ll leave that to you. But to get how the sailors felt about it, check out the news footage of Crozier leaving his ship and the entire crew lining the decks to cheer for him a he departed. That my friends, is how real leadership is rewarded, not the fawning supplication of his gutless followers for the Liar in the Oval Office.

Nancy Pelosi has been reported to be investigating the idea of forming a House Committee to oversee the conduct of all government agencies in the burgeoning health crisis.

Doug Collins, ® GA saw a bone he could chew on and immediately jumped in, challenging Pelosi on the timing of forming such a commission. Obviously he understands that any Pelosi investigation would probably end with the condemnation of a huge portion of the Trump loving Senate and certainly the President himself. That is the only impetus Collins, who spends a good part of every day prostrating himself before a picture of Trump needs.

Collins went so far as to say that the reason Trump missed the virus boat was because of the time consuming Mueller Investigation and the debilitating Impeachment proceedings. Really? So Collins wants us to believe that Trump failed to see the coming plague because he was being impeached for conduct unbecoming a president? That’s a real knee slapper, considering Trump’s behavior in the face of this virus. This would have been the serious impeachment charge if the Democrats hadn’t blown their wad on Trump’s other piece of treason involving the Ukrainians and Joe Biden.

For those of you who have been watching the daily news conferences of our President and our Governor it is truly a revelation of communication. Trump, who desperately misses the adulation of the uninformed masses at his campaign rallies, has discovered that he can massage his floundering ego by reinstituting the long abandoned press conference. Of course he has forgotten that he abandoned the original press conferences because too many questioners caught him in lies, lies that he compounded by trying to lie his way out of. Now, even when he’s saying the right thing, which is only about 20% of the time, he still can’t deal with any kind of disagreement with his positions and that leaves him angry and truculent.

Cuomo on the other hand gives logical answers to intelligent questions and kids the dumb questions in a way that his audience sees the absurdity in them. He, as opposed to Trump, is obviously sensitive to the travails of those he is addressing whereas Trump is sensitive to nothing but his own wants.

16,000 lies. That’s where the count is now and that is definitely the reason that our useless President cannot control the virus crisis in the country and can’t help anywhere around the world. We look out our windows and see people ignoring the shelter in place orders. Why, because they have no reliable voice to listen to. But even if he spoke about anything sensible, how does one know what to listen to?  This clown has lied so much that you don’t even know anymore which are the lies and which are just the stupid, uninformed statements.

Trump told these idiots to ignore all the safety protocols; that the whole thing was a hoax. Now he appears surprised that they don’t take the warnings seriously. Big fucking surprise! So what can we do?

Trump decided to send his son-in-law out to face the public for him. Face the pubic or take the bullet?  Kushner made his first appearance on the Trump afternoon sitcom and did what? He stood in front of the cameras and told the American people that the ventilators belonged to “us”. Who the hell is “us”? Trump is trying to sell the idea that he was referring to the American people. We all know Kushner got the many jobs he has in this administration because Trump’s sons are too dumb to walk and chew gum.

We all know that Trump gave Jared a lot of jobs for which he was ill equipped and at which he subsequently failed. As a matter of fact he has actually accomplished nothing in any of the jobs Trump gave him. So now Trump sticks the useless rich kid in front of the firing squad and all take aim, relieving Trump from the pressure created by his own useless leadership. And what does Jared do? He tells us that all life saving technology belongs to “us.” Who is “us?” Is it the US government or is it one of the two criminal families that Jared represents. I use the word criminal with good reason. Jared’s dad did the time and Donald’s dad pled out to avoid a stint behind bars. These are both criminal groups and together they have bred Jared. Now Trump has stood him up in front of the firing squad in order to avoid the headshot himself. Don’t tell me you’re surprised. This is just the Fat Liar in the Oval Office being himself. Just like he’s being himself when he gives tech support to states that don’t need it simply because the Governors of those states are willing to grovel before him.

Congress has passed a bill that will hopefully keep the nation from falling apart for a couple of months but in order to get the fat liar with the bad hair to sign it they had to allocate $500 billion to a special fund over which Trump will have sole discretion. That means while we are using 75% of the money allocated to save lives and boost the economy, Trump will be using the other 25% as giveaways to his friends and supporters as well as ad buys for his campaign in the fall. Yes, everyone who isn’t getting any of this money hates the bill, but they had to vote for it because Trump wouldn’t sign anything, no matter who starved or died of the virus, unless he got his payoff.
