Living with a Degenerate President

Washington Post correspondent, Jamal Khashoggi has disappeared. The last known sighting of him was entering the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Turkey. Our own intelligence services using information supplied by the Turkish government report indications that Khashoggi was killed and dismembered while in the agency by a team of 15 assassins from Saudi Arabia who have since left Turkey.

Such an action could not have happened without the approval of Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salam, (MBS) the Saudi leader who, for all practical purposes, has taken control of the country. We know what happened, we probably can’t prove it but we do know. So now the question becomes should Donald Trump do anything about it. Trump has embraced the Saudis ever since they displayed his picture on the front of one of their palaces when he visited. He loves that shit. But will he have the stones to confront the Saudis who have now killed a legal resident of the US working for a major American paper?

How did the Saudis get the information that led them to kill Khashoggi? Right now there is a great deal of thought that MBS received such information from, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner who has been so cuddled up with the Saudis that there is evidence  he has shared classified information he got from Trump, with MBS; information that identified such people as, MBS own family, student protestors and women’s rights advocates, some of whom have been arrested, many of whom have just disappeared into the sands of the Saudi desert.

Trump loves the Saudis because they cater to his ego and they buy a lot of apartments in his buildings, which is unfortunate because in the battle for the Middle East it has come down to the Saudis against the Iranians and we should be on the Iranians side. I know that Trump spends all his foreign policy time attacking Iran but that is just stupid. No they’re not saints but we, as a nation, have so much more in common with the Iranian people than we do with the Saudis. Iran is a young, functioning nation. Sure it’s under the thumb of a few old religious leaders but their hold is getting more tenuous as they get older. Saudi Arabia is still a medieval kingdom where all the people are buried in the casket of religious power.

Take away the religious leadership and offer Iranians something in the way of economic help and they would quickly become our closest ally in the Middle East. I am not suggesting that we tell the people we will help them with regime change. We are notoriously bad at that, but I am saying that we should approach regime change in the way Russia approached it in our country. It worked for Putin. We ended up with an ignorant egomaniac, as President and he will easily be overthrown at the next election.

The problem with this mess is that Trump denies that the Saudis had anything to do with it, even as they are busy trying to put a good face on a story about Khashoggi being accidently killed during an interrogation carried out by rogue elements that went bad. That is certainly a believable concept until someone asks how the bone saw got into the picture.  I know; it’s not funny but one can’t help but be amused by the gross stupidity of the Saudis and the moral decay that is coating our President even as he tries to explain how we can be the good guys and still care more about some arms sales than we do about the murder of an American resident who worked as a reporter for the Washington Post.

Hurricane Michael, lashed the Florida panhandle this week with winds over 170 mph. It destroyed everything in its path. Far and away the most damage was done to the poor, the people who had desperately, albeit not wisely, voted for Donald Trump. So where was Trump? Not in the White House dealing with the rescue and the effects of the storm. No, Trump was out in the hinterlands at a pep rally for his base. You may not have known this because no one covers these rallies anymore. They are just repetitive rants on the subjects that Trump wants to lie about that day. Their ratings are so low that none of the media, not even Fox, will send out a crew to see what new lies the fat criminal can come up with.

So part of Florida and a piece of Georgia are being blown away and Trump is acting as a cheerleader for the rotten right. What does that tell us about our not so revered leader? This tells us that he is a creature with no empathy, no level of human consideration; an animal that thinks and acts only for its own benefit and screws everyone else. It tells all of us, except for the few ignorant miscreants that still follow him, that this thing in the White House is nothing but a degenerating mass of intellectual decay that wants only to acquire riches and ego supporting plaudits with no thought to executing the duties for which he was elected. Just as he did in Puerto Rico and southern Florida, Trump is ignoring the needs of the people who need him most. But November 6^this looming and he commits this dereliction of duty at a potentially high cost. If the Democrats take the house they will commence a series of investigations into everything that Trump has ignored in his greedy search for money and power. It’s already happening in New York, where his accumulation of riches by means of screwing the government out of taxes is about to lead to the nicest pinstripes the orange monster has ever worn. It’s time we treat the disaster in the White House as the criminal he is. Indictments and jail are in the future of Donald Trump to his ultimate disgrace and to the embarrassment of the country.

Watching Trump’s depressing reactions to things like the disappearance and probable killing of Washington Post reporter and legal resident of the US, Jamal Khashoggi, one cannot help but realize that there is not now, nor will there ever be, any reaction from Trump other than how can this situation benefit me personally. We are speaking here about a thing that never expected to win the residency and once he did, he moved forward on the same path he would have pursued had he lost. Trying to make money for himself and his family. Not, in any of his ventures is there any planning that looks to help the country but only to help him. In the news conference where he spoke to Khashoggi’s disappearance, he was stupid enough to admit that he doesn’t want to ruffle MBS’s robes because the Saudi’s buy a lot of condos from the Trump organization. He blathered on about a multi billion arms deal that is supposed to be in progress but is really something that has yet to come to fruition and maybe never will.

Republicans have always loved Saudi money. Don’t forget, the majority of those who attacked the World Trade Center were Saudis. When it happened and the Pentagon grounded all air traffic in the country, George Bush put a bunch of Saudi’s he was friendly with on a plane and flew them out of the US in direct violation of the orders he had given our security forces. Sure the Bush’s have always been in the oil business so who cared if the guys who were escaping the country were relatives of Osama bin Laden. Does anyone think that Trump would do anything different; especially if a couple of bucks were at stake?

It amazes me that anyone would expect the monster in the White House to have a human reaction to a Washington Post journalist being murdered. In the first place he hates the Post just like he hates the New York Times and any other reliable paper that tells the truth about him and his gang of pimps and hustlers.

Yesterday Donald Trump suggested that Devin Nunes should get some reward for all the great work he has done on behalf of Donald Trump. He even suggested that they should create a Medal of Freedom so they could give it to Nunes. Well, we already have a Medal of Freedom. It is the highest civilian award one can get and the fact that Trump isn’t aware of it just shows what a stupid asshole he actually is. We are living with a Government of the Absurd. It’s like living in a Basquiat painting. The President makes statements and acts in a ways that bear no hope for a stabile world.  There is no such thing as truth, which means there is no basis for reality.  How does one instruct a child when the single figure that the world is supposed to look up to, the President of the United States, is a raving, degenerate, egomaniac who does not recognize the existence of truth?

Trump loves rallies where he can get up in front of a crowd and tell a passel of lies while he leads the animals in chants of “Lock her up.”  He has decided to back Ted Cruz in that slimy little rat’s run to stay in congress. Neither Trump nor Cruz seem to care that Trump viciously attacked Cruz during the presidential battles, even accusing Cruz’s father of having been involved in the assassination of Kennedy. But being the guys that they are, all is forgotten when they need each other.

So Trump decided that he was going to make his backing of Cruz a big deal. He decided that the place for this rally would be the Dallas Cowboy stadium which seats about 92,000. He called Jerry Jones and started arrangements for the venue. Jones, who is as big a slime ball as Trump, was glad to make it available. Then they started selling tickets and lo and behold nobody bought any. They have now cancelled Cowboy’s stadium and rented a venue that seats about 8,000. Who knows, maybe they’ll fill it. Cruz has built himself a significant lead over Beto O’Rourke but it is yet to be seen if that lead will shrink enough as we get further from the Kavanaugh hearings. It would be a stunning victory if the personable and intelligent O’Rourke could steal that Texas seat from the lying Cruz.
