Mitt’s Foreign Policy-Whoops!

Everybody who knows anything has agreed that the economy will be the big thing in the November election. Mitt Romney believed that so he shoved Bain capital down our throats to prove that he knew how to create jobs. Unfortunately for the Mittster, people have come to realize that  Bain made more money for him than it did for the poor slobs that lost their jobs in companies that Bain  gobbled up. So much for job creation.

Now Romney has decided that he will attack Obama‘s record on foreign policy, a move that has Obama’s staff cheering wildly in the wings. Who’s making these decisions for Romney? Whoever it is should be traded to Al Qaeda for two suicide bombers and a camel to be named later.

By attacking Obama’s foreign policy, Romney only proves that he knows nothing about this very important aspect of the presidency, an area where the candidate’s character is of utmost importance. He attacks Obama for being too weak on our enemies. That’s probably because Obama didn’t attack two small countries out of greed and stupidity, causing five thousand of our kids to lose their lives and tens of thousands more to be permanently injured. What he did instead is pound, Al Qaeda killing bin Laden and most of its highest-ranking leaders.  An obvious mistake if you’re a Republican.

Not slowed by one blunder, Romney goes on to compound his incompetence and stupidity, chiding Obama for being too weak with Russia and China. He probably feels this way because he has already declared the Soviet Union to be our most fearsome geopolitical adversary. He was probably too busy moving jobs overseas to notice the wall coming down in Berlin or the dissolution of the Soviet Union, but hey, the Mittster is a very busy man. Right now he’s too busy trying to hide his tax returns to investigate the fact that China, a huge economic competitor is too involved in making money to want to get into any kind of military confrontation with Japan, let alone us.

Realizing that most of the crap that he’s throwing around just won’t float, his advisors, 70% of whom were on a Bush/Cheney team, that managed to sink almost all of our foreign policy and turn most of our allies into, at best, courteous neutrals, have suggested a foreign tour. After all, it worked for Obama when he was running. What they forgot to suggest was that the Mittster learn something about what the hell is going on in the rest of the world. They also forget to suggest he do it before he left our shores.

Ever the smooth diplomat Romney goes to England for the opening of the Olympics and announces that they don’t know squat about how to run an Olympic security system, generating a “who the hell is this clown and why didn’t he pay for his ticket,” response from most of that allied nation. A couple of more trips to other of our allies and we’ll be back to fighting the rest of the world without any help, just like we did in the Bush/Cheney years.

Next Mitt went to Israel where he made even Bibi Netanyahu cringe at his brain dead declarations of war against Iran. We all know that Mitt doesn’t know what the hell is going on over there, but does he have to prove it every time he opens his mouth? The last thing anyone in the Middle East or America, with the possible, moronic exception of Mitt Romney, wants, is a war between Iran and Israel. No interests will be served by such a war and it seems only Mitt doesn’t realize that.  So, in pathetic attempt to grab a few senior Jewish votes, a move reminiscent of McCain’s choice of Sara Palin, Romney goes to Israel and publicly kisses Netanyahu’s ass. This leaves Netanyahu thoroughly embarrassed, other world leaders panicked and the idiotic Cheney declaring that Romney will make a great president. Who the hell donated a heart to this cretin?

The other night at a fundraiser in Wyoming, Cheney stated that Romney was the only man who could make the right decision in a foreign policy crisis. Yeah, like Cheney made so many good ones that we’re nearly bankrupt as a nation and we still haven’t been able to put away two small time countries that we inappropriately invaded under his banner.

Speaking of fundraisers and inappropriate things, how about the one the Republican’s threw in Israel. That’s right, I mean the one at the King David Hotel, where the press was shut out, another boon to transparency.

Sheldon Adelson’s $35 million was, of course, the inspiration for Mitts trip to Israel. Mitt got to promise his Israeli donors a war with Iran much the same way George Bush got to promise them a war with Iraq. We all know how well that turned out.

Adelson, who, along with his Chinese butt boy in Macau, is under investigation for allegedly bribing Chinese officials over a Macau casino deal, is a financial leader of that part of the Jewish community which has long been associated with a militant Israel, so Mitt probably felt that he had to go the extra mile for Sheldon’s approval. I suppose Sheldon feels that it was money well spent. After all he got to watch the Republican candidate kiss Bibi’s ass on TV. Maybe Sheldon should worry a little more about the welfare of this country where he is a citizen and where he made his billions than he does about Israel. Not that he should abandon Israel, just that he should, maybe, take a look at his priorities.

But how do things really stand in the foreign policy realm? Romney claims that Obama has angered America’s allies by his policy actions, but in Britain, where Romney’s star is now trampled in the dust, 80% of the populace trust Obama as opposed to 16% that trusted Bush/Cheney and undoubtedly somewhere around minus 10% that even want to hear Romney’s name. In Poland where Romney has made a big deal about our supposed insulting the Poles and Czechs over not building a missile base, the Poles, according to a PEW survey think Obama deserves a second term by a 5 to 3 ratio, while in the Czech Republic it was 6 to 1.

There are parts of the world where Obama’s ratings are down but they are mostly in Arab states where his backing of Israel is the cause of this dislike. This seems to put the lie to Romney’s statements about Obama abandoning Israel. In fact Obama has been one of Israel’s biggest supporters and in contrast with Romney is trying to find a solution to the Iran nuclear problem without starting a war.

The Wall Street Journal and NBC have recently released a new pole that shows Obama 15 points ahead of Romney on handling of foreign policy.

Okay, so what’s Mitt’s next move? Bain Capital isn’t the answer to job growth, he needs years of study or a new brain before he jumps back into the foreign policy debate. He’s on the wrong side of the environment question, women’s priorities, health care, jobs, immigration, education and taxes. It looks like his people, realizing what a buffoon he is, have panicked and are pushing the only avenue they have left, stealing the right to vote from our older and minority voters. They’ve even had some success. They really are a sleazy bunch of pond scum.
