Donald Trump went on trial for his second impeachment this week. It sounds like a joke. How big a criminal do you have to be to have instigated two impeachments in only four years? Trump is the GOAT of sociopathic criminal presidents. He’s so guilty that no lawyer wants to represent him. Of course the problem of getting paid from Trump may have something to do with that. He is currently being represented by his fifth group of lawyers, a herd of stumblebums so far down the ladder that they don’t recognize what he’s being tried for. They are completely ignoring the charges, maybe because they have no defense for them and concentrating on attacking the constitutionality of the trial itself. This defense is so flawed that even Chuck Cooper, a famous right wing fanatic, has mocked it as a travesty. This is the defense that says; “We all saw him shoot the guy but we can’t believe what we saw so we must believe what he says.” Yeah, unbelievable! I know.
This whole approach is extremely dangerous to the country. There are actually Republicans in Arizona who are suing to change the election laws to allow the elected officials currently in office to change the result of an election if they don’t like it. Guess where that came from?

There are fences capped with barbed wire surrounding our Capitol building. The National Guard is now a semi-permanent installation in the nation’s Capitol. Members of congress try to carry weapons into the House and Senate chambers and all over the nation formerly law-abiding citizens ferment revolution and sedition. What the hell is going on and where does this all come from?
The simple fact is that there have always been small sects that threatened violence and spoke in terms of revolution but now, in the aftermath of Donald, the great Liar, Trump and his great lie about the rigged election, we are faced with ever enlarging groups that threaten violence and push toward revolution. The criminal mob that invaded the Capitol building on January 6th is just the vanguard of this still small yet significant army of loosely affiliated dissenters, driven by volumes of lies, aimed at a goal which is really not there.
We have always had liars in our political sphere and we have always had men driven by power and other non-democratic impetus, but from the first day of the Trump administration we have had to face a level of untruth that we had not seen before on the national landscape.
Those who had lied before Trump did so under the cover of acceptable practice. That is, they told lies that if uncovered could be explained away or covered up. Trump ushered in a new era of non-truth. Kelly Anne Conway, Trump’s liar to the public, invented “Alternative Facts” which are nothing but lies you can’t crawl out from under. They are lies that are so obvious you can’t get around them. All you can do is state them and stand behind them and hope no one shoots you between the eyes for having told them. The favorite Trump whopper and maybe the most obvious before “the election was rigged,” was told on his very first day in office when he stated in the face of thousands of photographs and hours of TV coverage that he had drawn the biggest inaugural crowd in history and then had the lack of shame to stand behind it. From there it was, “Can you top this?” Continuing unabated to the point where he stood before cameras and stated that if he lost he election it would be because the election was rigged and the dummies sucked it up like camels finding water in the desert. Why did those people who would later march on our capitol in a Civil War size act of sedition never ask; why wasn’t President, Trump trying to stop the rigging? Why didn’t they ask; if he knew it was going on how come he allowed it?
The fact is they didn’t want to know the truth. It just didn’t fit into the scenario they had developed in their small brains, the scenario that wanted Trump to win, no matter how dishonestly, because Trump was going to save them from all those strange people who were inhabiting their country; blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, Muslims and those who had strong opinions that didn’t agree with theirs.
But even if you wanted Trump to win, shouldn’t you want him to win without cheating? Shouldn’t you want him to win fair and square? Because if you don’t, you have no business claiming you are an American. You have no business waving an American flag because everything that Trump stands for is anathema to everything that makes us proud to be Americans.
The only way democracy works is if people play it straight. This was driven home when we saw the former President and his lackeys lie, cheat and steal to get their way and we discovered that the founding fathers, in their innocence, had not provided enough controls in the Constitution to harness a completely amoral and dishonest creature like Donald Trump. Let’s hope that as part of his restoration of our country Joe Biden will be able to get some kind of Presidential controls added to our laws. If not, we will always be at the mercy of a smarter, more ruthless version of Trump.

Trump and his lackeys just got away with too much. No one stepped on their tongues when they lied so they thought it was okay and they could do it all the time. When Fox, OAN and Rudy Giuliani lied about the election being rigged, no one stopped them. And so they told even bigger lies until Dominion, the company that made the voting machines realized that these lies would destroy their business. So Dominion along with Smartmatic, another computer company that programs the machines, threatened to sue everyone who stated or repeated those lies in conjunction with their name. A list that is longer than I95. It’s scarier too.
Fox has cancelled Lou Dobbs and OAN is getting rid of Mike Lindell the pillow liar.
Rupert Murdoch of Fox has lied freely over the years about anything he pleased but now he is backing off big time. I am looking forward to buying a pillow from Dominion when they win their suit and take his company away from Lindell.
Despite all this there has been a lot of noise about Trump still leading the GOP. I can’t really argue with that but maybe it’s just because no one has yet tried to take that leadership away. It isn’t like Trump is fighting to hold onto power. No one has hears from him since the riot on the 6th. It’s hard to be a leader when you’re hiding out on a golf course in south Florida and communicating with no one but Marjorie Taylor Greene. The big problem seems to be that no one wants to step up and take the lead except for Trump sycophants like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz.
And what about Hawley? He’s been in office less than the lifespan of a flea and already he’s running for president. He has done nothing but make a couple of truth less, idiotic speeches and he thinks that qualifies him to lead a country into dictatorship. Sure he’s smarter than Trump but he’s just another spoiled preppie punk who cares nothing for anyone but himself.

Republican Senator Roger Wicker was very adamant this Sunday about the claim that while Republican and Democratic Senators came together for bi-partisan agreement of COVID packages during the Trump administration the Democrats under the Biden administration are unwilling to be cooperative in a bi-partisan effort. This is very strange reasoning since it’s the Republicans who refuse to come up with a realistic number. $600 billion is not realistic considering the situation.
Like all the Republicans who have found their way onto the tube, Wicker is completely ingenuous. He babbles about the constitution when the constitution never mentions the situation he is trying to set up. He beats around the bush about whether Trump did actually incite an insurrection but then when led into it by Stephanopoulos he claims that the impeachment of Bill Clinton was not a political action but because he lied under oath. This in the face of Trump being the biggest liar in the history of the presidency is monumentally hypocritical, but what Republican would ever acknowledge that?
The reality is, the Democrats went along with the earlier bill simply because it was the only way to get the money spent where it was needed. The GOP was looking for any excuse to ignore the crisis and they had the votes to control the situation. Now the GOP is whining about the fact that they no longer have the votes to crush a much needed bill and using the BS excuse that the Democrats are not being bi-partisan. How about the GOP not being bi-partisan by refusing to accept the necessity of passing the $1.9 billion bill? I understand that the GOP feels we shouldn’t spend that much money unless it’s helping some billionaire get richer. Under Trump the Democrats felt that none of the bills they voted for were large enough to provide the help that was needed but they understood that they had to vote for something or the starving and unemployed would get nothing from the GOP scum. As usual the GOP is more than willing to do nothing until they get their way. That’s why nothing has been accomplished in congress for a decade. That can change now, if even a small portion of the GOP ever decides that the nation’s needs are more important then their wants. Maybe now, despite the scum that still infects the Republican Party, we will finally get some helpful legislation
Thanks for coming back, missed your rants
