The GOP is doing its damnedest to keep everyone who isn’t a registered Republican from voting. As an excuse for this anti-American behavior they are embracing Trump’s “rigged election” nonsense. What they don’t seem to get is that most of the measures they are proposing as solutions have nothing to do with stopping any rigging of any election.
What the hell does polling hours, mail-in votes or weekend voting have to do with rigging the votes? Nothing! It’s all a pathetic excuse to keep poor, aged or black voters from the polls. This all out attack on the voting process, comprised of 250 lawsuits in 45 states, is an attempt by a party without a platform to undermine the democratic process simply because they don’t have any lucid plan to garner votes, so they must reduce Democratic votes to numbers below what they can hope to get from their gullible supporters.

We all know that Ron Johnson is the dumbest man in Wisconsin but what’s surprising to most of us is that he continually needs to prove it. He was at it again this week, telling the nation that he didn’t fear the armed mob of White Supremacists that attacked the Capitol intent on killing Democrats and a Republican Vice President but that he would fear the peaceful demonstrators who assembled to call attention to the brutal murder of an innocent black man.
Yes, we know this jackass is willing to say anything just to have Donald Trump pat him on the head and give him a carrot but how the hell did he ever get elected? He didn’t just get stupid yesterday. It doesn’t work that way. He had to be stupid when he ran and yet people who obviously have a soft spot for the intellectually challenged voted him into office. That’s definitely charitable, but is it functional? I mean this clown is supposed to get shit done for those who elected him. Near as I can see the most functional thing he is able to do is stand upright.

It has been over a decade since the United States Senate passed a significant piece of legislation that benefited the majority of American citizens. That was when the Democrats forced Obamacare through the House and Senate saving tens of thousands of American lives and subsequently giving the Tea Party imbeciles a big win in 2010 and Donald Trump a platform to run on in 2016.
Now in 2021, the Democrats, in the face of bi-partisan bullshit and 100% opposition from the GOP have passed a massive COVID Relief bill that will hasten the end of the pandemic, restore living conditions for millions who have been economically crippled, boost the country’s attempts to restore our disintegrating infrastructure while creating millions of jobs and put us back on the track to economic stability. To do this, Joe Biden had to drag Moscow Mitch McConnell and his recalcitrant colleagues thru a battleground of ridiculous rules and antique regulations, almost all of which were created to help men like McConnell keep the Senate from actually achieving anything but the status quo. The Senate is so rule bound that even McConnell admits and sometimes threatens that you can’t even turn the lights on in the chambers without his okay. And it’s true.
One of the worst of these rules is that of the filibuster, a unique antiquity used to allow the stoppage of legislation related to our racist tendencies. The south has a documented history of this outrage but the north hasn’t been much better.
Having watched as Moscow Mitch did his best to stop the COVID Relief bill despite its popularity with over 76% of the nation including a majority of Republicans, Biden has decided that there will be zero cooperation coming from the GOP on anything the Democrats want to do for the country, so knowing he doesn’t have the votes to get rid of the filibuster, he has gone on record as wanting to return it to its old format.
Currently the filibuster allows for the registering of a filibuster by any member of congress, effectively stopping progress on that bill while the rest of the business of the Senate progresses. Formerly, a filibuster had to be conducted by a single member taking the floor and talking non-stop for as long as his kidneys held out. The bill could be addressed by the opposition and called for a vote when nature reduced the speaker to a quivering mass. Biden understands that only at that point will the business of the Senate on that bill be able to move forward. Biden also understands that if something isn’t done to eliminate this massive traffic jam nothing will get done in this Congress. That doesn’t bother McConnell. He comes from a Party that doesn’t have a platform so nothing getting done is fine with him. He has pushed that position for the last ten years and he is very happy with it. It may be killing the country but it has kept him in power, which is his only goal. Moscow Mitch is one of the smartest leeches in politics. He’s also the slimiest snake ever to wriggle out of its den. The nation will be in great danger and completely non-functional until he is gone.

So Rand Paul is at it again. The sleaze from the south went at it with Dr. Fauci this week in a TV battle that proved two things. The first is that Fauci was far too merciful and charitable when he didn’t cut Paul in half for his stupid and untruthful statements and the second is that Paul’s neighbor did the country a great disservice by not finishing the beating he gave the lout from Kentucky.
Its not easy but one might understand some dumb shitkicker from the backwoods not understanding that masks can only help keep you from getting sick, but Paul is way past that and so his determination to misinform and potentially kill those he represents is more than unforgivable. One can only wonder what this dumb turd thinks he’s accomplishing by spreading dangerous lies among a gullible and seemingly completely misinformed public.

It’s hard to conceive of the horrifying conditions that must exit for parent to be willing to send his or her unaccompanied child on a two thousand mile, incredibly dangerous trek from Central America to the Texas border on the slim chance that they might get into the United States and be allowed to stay there. But they do it, and right now there appears to be a few thousand of them crossing our southern border and begging North America to take them in.
It’s a situation that had been prevalent throughout the four years of the Trump presidency when it was dealt with by turning ICE and our Border Patrol into the Gestapo, tearing infants from the arms of their mothers and locking them in cages. This crime against humanity worked for Trump, stopping the trains of helpless immigrants and forcing them back to their criminal gang controlled countries.
Once that was accomplished, instead of trying to deal with the problem at its source, Trump and his useless sycophants ignored it.
Now, with the assumption of the Presidency by a real President, the wave of immigrants has been rejuvenated. The Biden administration has acknowledged the problem and is moving to deal with it, but it is only one of dozens of crises left behind by the criminal and grossly incompetent Trump administration.
Considering the way they mismanaged the problem when it was their responsibility one would think that those remnants of the GOP left behind to infect congress would have the decency to at least keep their mouths shut while Biden and his people attempt to deal with the crisis Trump and his bumbling fools created. This is, of course, expecting far too much from the degenerates that make up the GOP base. They are already loud in their condemnation of the Biden team for not having solved the problem in their first 60 days in office. This is ludicrous when you consider that they did nothing about it for four years.
The problem will be solved and more quickly than it ever would have been with Trump and his team of misfits. Considering the speed with which Biden and his people have already accelerated the COVID vaccine distribution and passed the $1.9 trillion relief bill it will undoubtedly be sooner rather than later. Watching Biden and the Democrats surge ahead on voter suppression, infrastructure, education, employment and the environment brings a surge of hope to a Trump depressed nation. Now if we can only keep the idiot Right from poisoning the broth we might arrive at a functioning nation in the foreseeable future.
Just to say, you have so accurately synopsized all that is going on and so accurately personified the degenerateness of the opposition. Sad to have to say “opposition” when a difference of opinion for the same, sane result for the good of the country could be ironed out as the goals were the same. However, there is no difference of opinion – there is just one side trying to do good for this country and one side trying to prevent it. Thanks for putting it all in a nutshell.
There are a few more idiots drawing salaries, such as Danes, who I believe have done more to damage Congress than many others. Altho the surplus monies flowing to Moscow Mitch’s home state, and she left without being investigated. The record of Congress is miserable, especially the GOP, and I am ashamed to think of them there, year after year, without any worries, and spending money and doing otherwise nothing. The best thing that will not ever happen, unfortunately, would be term limits. The Representatives (who don’t represent me anytime) would have two terms and the Senators would have their six years and out. One can only dream.
