The deafening noise this week was all about the friendship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein and whether it was based on business, buddy stuff, or Epstein’s ready supply of underage flesh.
Mainly because we’ve seen or heard it with our own eyes, there are certain things we do know. Both men expressed fealty to a relationship with each other on numerous occasions, and both seem to have an eye for the young and nubile females in their lives. Epstein for the young women brought to him by Ghislaine Maxwell and Trump by uncomfortable comments about his own daughter when she was transitioning from youth to young woman.
Where will it all go and how can it play out. Well, the MAGA crowd believes in Trump so fervently that they want all the paperwork to be revealed, positive that it will show Trump to be innocent of any kind of criminal association or involvement. Good luck with that theory. The real world understands that Trump is determined to keep the story under wraps because it obviously involves him in more sexual shenanigans, and this time it will be with children. The fact of the matter is Trump’s followers just aren’t dumb enough to buy his innocence if the involvement of underage girls is nailed down. Sex with hookers is one thing but pedophilia is something quite different … even if you are a Southerner.

Donald Trump has decided that an important part of the American presidency is the design of the soda we drink. Coca Cola, which for the most part is manufactured in Mexico, is made with fructose, a foreign product. So, Donald the designer has decided that it should be made with cane sugar, which used to be grown in Georgia, which would make it an American product. Of course that was before the Civil War, but who’s keeping track. Now, sugar cane is grown in Brazil, India, and Cuba, none of which, even with Trumpian geography, can be found in any part of North America. But again, who’s keeping track. Certainly not Donald the designer.

This week we were treated to Trump at his most disingenuous, as the “lying press” proposed a question about the Epstein investigation he is trying desperately to avoid.
The question had to do with his opinion as to where the search for a client list would go. Trump’s answer was he hadn’t been paying much attention, but if you really want to see something treasonous, just look at Barack Obama and his actions surrounding the 2020 election, which Trump says Obama rigged. Now, first of all, the answer had nothing to do with the question, but this isn’t at all unusual for Trump. This is actually his normal avoidance mechanism for dealing with the uncomfortable truth by opening a new avenue of lies about something even more outrageous. Trump has been doing this for years, so we’re used to it, but it’s just one more example of Trump the liar, a man who has no grip on any aspect of the truth.

The jobs report came out last week and it was negative. So, how does a President involved in a tariff war deal with that? Well, if you are Donald Trump, you don’t deal with it, you just fire the person who reported the math and ignore the one who caused the math. It’s classic Trump. It’s why our country is going into the toilet—after Trump inherited from Biden the strongest economy in the history of the world.
And how is anyone going to believe anything that the Trump appointed replacement tells us? It’s obvious that Trump wants his own statistics regardless of what the facts really are.

Democratic Senator Alex Padilla was on Meet the Press recently. He gave us a clear and devastating look at why the Democrats got their heads handed to them in the last election and why, if they don’t come up with some strong candidates, they will suffer the same fate in the next one. Padilla couldn’t come up with any kind of clear forceful stand on any of the questions asked of him. He stumbled around when asked whether or not Netanyahu had acted as a war criminal, and if the Democrats were messing up Trump’s gerrymandering tactics in Texas, and just about every question that was asked of him. I understand, even if I don’t condone the GOP retreat from having their own opinions, but the Democrats certainly shouldn’t be trying to emulate them. If you are too cowardly to have an opinion as a Democrat, you better just get the hell out of politics because right now opinions are all the Democrats have got.

This is the 80th Anniversary of the United States dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was an action that ended the war with Japan and that began a balancing act that has existed for the last eight decades as the nations of the world attempt to enhance their own nuclear status while keeping everyone else from enhancing theirs. It’s nothing short of a miracle that no nation has actually used a nuclear weapon in that period, but it’s also an impossibility for this situation to continue.
The original concept was that a small number of nuclear nations would control the bomb and be responsible to each other. But no functional provision was ever made on how to control that number, and so Russia and China have been using it as threat mechanism practically since the day the first bomb was dropped. Since then, rogue nations, like Pakistan, have developed their own bombs, and others, like Iran, seem to be working to develop theirs. The idea that a beast as flawed as man could ever control anything as dangerous and desirable as a nuclear weapon is ludicrous and now it is only a matter of time before some religious nutcase like the Ayatollah kills a few million non-believers with one.
The only reason that a bomb was not dropped in the Middle East in the last year was that Hamas did not have the capability … and Israel did. Given that capability, and Netanyahu’s continuing legal problems, which have only been held in abeyance by the existence of the current war, it would seem that it is inevitable that Bibi will have to use a nuclear weapon eventually to stay out of jail.
This is a man who has allowed, indeed forced, children to starve to protect his position. In doing so, he has put his nation in a position to commit the same heinous crimes that the Nazis did to his own people. It is unfortunate that in this time of dire need, our country doesn’t have a leader with the kind of moral fortitude necessary to force Bibi to ultimately do the right thing.

One of the reasons Trump won the last election was the utter failure of the Biden administration to deal functionally with the border crisis. Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants were flooding across our southern border and when arrested, they overwhelmed the legal system’s ability to deal credibly with them. This encouraged many who considered the situation at the border to be a major crisis to back Trump when he promised to solve the problem.
Of course, he didn’t. He did improve the situation. That is obvious. Illegal border crossings are way down but like everything else Trump does, he did it the wrong way. He invented a lie. “The people crossing the border are criminal gang members, rapists and drug dealers.” And he created a Gestapo-like organization, ICE, to deal with the lie.
What’s wrong with ICE? Nothing–if you happen to be Adolph Hitler or Vladimir Putin and don’t mind seeing your country’s law enforcement run by thugs and border-line criminals.
A bus filled with young boys going to play a Little League baseball game was stopped by several unmarked cars operated by out-of-uniform thugs in camo gear, armed to the teeth and masked, appearing to be nothing so much as a South American drug gang. They took a 13-year-old boy into custody without charging him. What is this, Nazi Germany? Is this the way we want our law enforcement to work? Is this the United States of America or some totalitarian state run by a dictator?
This is how Donald Trump has solved the border crisis. It’s only going to get worse as he acquires more power … but how do you like it so far?
