FIGHTING IGNORANCE

The GOP frontrunner in Missouri, Eric Greitens is accused of tying up his mistress in the basement of his family home. In Georgia, Hershel Walker is on the verge of being arrested for threatening his wife with a gun. Sean Parnel, the GOP frontrunner in PA who has just dropped out of the race, is awaiting a judge’s ruling on he charge that he choked his estranged wife and hit one of his children. And these are among those that are considered normal in a GOP coven of utterly mad Trumpets that are driving the Republican Party over the cliff.

Nineteen GOP Senators voted the other day to pass the Infrastructure Bill. That means thirty-one voted against it. Those are thirty-one Republicans, who voted against the best interests of their constituents. How could they do that? Senators have two responsibilities; first to follow the constitution and second to operate in the best interests of those who voted them into office. Thirty-one of them ignored those duties just so they could kiss the ass of Donald Trump, a sociopathic clown that is tearing their party apart.

Right now, there is every indication that unless the Democrats get off their collective asses and pass not only Build Back Better, but also the Voting Rights Bill, along with getting shovels in the ground with the money the Infrastructure Bill has allocated, they will get their asses kicked in 2022. That, at the very least, will mean the House will go to the GOP ending any further help for the American people and stopping any functional legislation from progressing.

Yes, the Democrats need to get shit done but they also need to make sure the American voters know about and understand the significance of it.

Build Back Better is set to cost about $1.7 trillion. It will be broken down about like this:

$555B for Green Energy and Climate initiatives

$213B for paid family leave (This may go)

$205B for Medicaid and medical care expansion

$150B for elder and disabled care

$109B for universal pre-K

These are all important programs and each will help to lift the poor and middle class to a better place in life, but they are also an indication of how Democrats think and why they should be running the country. These are programs that will lift people out of poverty, create a physically better America, which will help implement the needs of our business community. It will help purify our currently poisoned atmosphere and even possibly provide a healthy planet on which we can raise future generations. This is just not the way the current Republicans think. The only piece of legislation passed by the GOP in four years of the Trump administration made the super rich richer and exempted big corporations from paying taxes. That sure as hell didn’t help you or me.

The GOP has been hammering home the idea that Joe Biden is responsible for the inflation that is currently sweeping through our economy. But like just about everything that the Republican Party has tried to sell since the invasion of Trump, it’s a lie. The reality is that our current inflation comes primarily from two sources, the pandemic and corporate greed in the form of anti-trust violations that have not been dealt with primarily by the Trump and other GOP administrations.

What Donald Trump did when he tried to ignore the tidal wave of COVID was set the stage for an economic body blow that hammered our business structure into almost complete collapse. American business struggled to stay alive and some actually managed to do so, but the second we began to see the most miniscule recovery we looked to recapture all we had lost on the first day back and we did that by raising prices to the highest point our markets would sustain and when people questioned the evidence of our greed we simply said ”COVID.” COVID became the great excuse for everything for which we didn’t want to take responsibility.

And while we were doing that, the major anti-trust violators were continuing their game of conspiracy that allowed them to raise prices to a point where they were able to tell their stockholders that their profit margins were now the biggest in history. You want to know where inflation comes from?

It’s mostly the doing of various GOP administrations with a small boost from centrist Democrats. That’s how assholes like Kevin McCarthy can make speeches against legislation that he doesn’t even understand and still make his followers believe that it is going to hurt them financially.

Gas prices are up around five bucks a gallon when just a short time ago they were a buck and change. This from an industry that was doing fine without government subsidies, but receives them anyway. It seems that making a big profit isn’t enough for the greedy oil barons. But what’s really amazing is that they are willing to kick the crap out of their own people. Gas prices are killing the residents of mostly red states because that’s where the big mileage is racked up.  That’s right, when you look at the rural states which are almost 100% Republican, they are the ones that rack up the most automotive mileage so they are the ones being killed by the gas prices. Like most suckers they have been sold a bill of goods that will keep them from helping themselves when the help is available. They will be the absolute last to make the transition to electric cars because they really believe that only cars that burn gas are real cars. It’s truly pathetic.

A recent poll shows that:

41% approve Biden

53% disapprove

70% think the economy is in bad shape while 29% don’t.

39% approve of Biden’s handling of the economy while 55% don’t.

All this, while Biden’s policies are basically liked by the American people;

63% support infrastructure while 58% support his social policy bill.

It seems the Democrats desperately need a good PR team to get out their message. It seems so unbelievably clear and easy to understand but then you see some idiot shit kicker from to-hell-and-gone give out the GOP version and you know the Dems have a ton of work to do on education.

Watched GOP Senator John Barrasso on This Weekas George Stephanopoulos asked him a series of questions relating to inflation and then to Trump’s failure to condemn “Hang Pence” chants on Jan 6. Even though Barrasso was sent out there to talk about inflation it was immediately obvious that his knowledge of our economic situation was nowhere near up to intelligently discussing any aspect of it. All he could do was babble about how much the Infrastructure bill and the Build Back better Bill would cost. He didn’t seem to be able to deal with the concept of paying for them by making the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Just watching this idiocy you knew there were a lot of terminally dumb people out in the countrysphere who bought everything this moron said. That has to be fixed.  Oh yeah! He didn’t touch the Mike Pence question.
