South Carolina Senator Nancy Mace was a guest on This Week. In the past Mace has bravely spoken to the fact that she was raped when she was sixteen but recently has puzzlingly announced that she was supporting Donald Trump who has twice been convicted of rape and who famously spoke to his vision of how women should be treated on national TV.
Mace, who should be applauded for her revelation of the rape was asked by George Stephanopoulos about her political support of a rapist and surprisingly, attacked Stephanopoulos on the grounds that he was shaming her by asking a legitimate question about her political choices. It instantly became clear that her attack was based on the illogical nature of her Trumpian support and the fact that considering her history, she had no reasonable excuse for her support of the ex-president and rapist.
The claim that George was trying to shame her was clearly as ridiculous as her position supporting Trump and equally as illogical.

I like Margaret Brennan because she’s smart and functional, but she spent part of last Sunday trying to make Bernie Sanders look bad because of his continued support for Joe Biden and Biden’s unfortunate inability to force Bibi Netanyahu to allow sufficient aid into Gaza. Of course, Margaret wants this to happen, we all want it to happen, but there are forces with a different goal and right now those forces have enough clout, to get their way. Brennan and her audience want Biden to tell Netanyahu we’ll stop shipping weapons to Israel unless they do as we wish, which is the right thing. But the Israeli’s don’t believe that shutting down the war will solve the problem. It probably won’t. But then there are countless starving and sick Palestinians who are dying for lack of provisions. There isn’t always an easy answer to every question and this is one of those situations. If the Israeli’s let us provision the Palestinians, Hamas will steal what they want of those provisions, strengthen themselves and launch another attack. This is all but written in stone.
The real problem goes back to the fact that Israel went into partnership with a very weak PLO when Gaza and the West Bank were created, and the PLO was unable to stop Israel from settling their people on kubutzen in the West Bank in violation of the original agreement. So, Israeli’s kept moving to the West Bank and building settlements, and the PLO was too weak to do anything about it. Eventually that led to the creation of Hamas and the eventual attack on Israel, an attack, if Hamas is to be believed, that will only be the first of many if Hamas is to be allowed to continue to exist.

Toward the end of the Presidency of Donald Trump, the government of the United States attempted to impeach him for high crimes and misdemeanors. The attempt failed because they could not find enough honest Republicans in the House to convict an obviously guilty Trump, but it also gave the GOP an idea, maybe their first in many years. Impeachment could be used as a political tool to bad mouth the one impeached. It didn’t really matter if you could get a conviction as long as you could wash all that dirty laundry in public, you could affect the vote. Hence the nonsense that has transpired about Hunter Biden and his father the President.
Unfortunately for the bad guys, the Republican circus that was their attempt to impeach Joe Biden by somehow involving Hunter in the government was such a clusterfuck that it ended up making Speaker of the House Mike Johnson look like an even more incompetent fool than he really is. The principal witness against Hunter turns out to be lying in his teeth and has now been arrested himself, and since there was no actual witness against Joe the GOP just looks like what they are, a bunch of stumbling fools who want to look like leaders, when they more resemble a flock of chickens with their heads cut off running around the barnyard trying not to crash into each other.
