Margaret Brennan spent last Sunday trying to justify the case for Israel to stop the destruction of Gaza, but the more appeals she made the more she appeared to be a voice crying in the desert. The problem with trying to protect the Palestinians in Gaza are the Palestinians themselves. They tend to view Hamas as a heroic bunch of freedom fighters instead of the murderous savages that they are. Every argument comes back to the Hamas invasion of Israel. Israeli troops would not be tearing apart Gaza right now if Hamas had not attacked Israel and by their vicious, brutal, methods given Israel license to do what they are doing. Every time some international official gives Israel a good reason to stop the fighting, Hamas restates its position of not stopping until they have killed all the Jews. That’s genocide, people.
The Palestinians aren’t helping their own cause, when we see thousands of them marching against the Jews in the streets of Gaza, instead of marching out of Gaza to food and safety. We can only conclude that these people are too misguided to bother with. Palestinian civilians are being killed because they are packed around Hamas terrorists who are using them as protection against the Israeli soldiers. If I was in Palestine with my kids, I would be doing everything I could to get them across any border I could reach, no matter how dangerous, because staying is obviously more dangerous than anything else.
The Palestinians whine that they are being starved out by the Israeli’s. The food is there, right across the Egyptian border in caravans that are being provided by international aid organizations, but the trucks aren’t allowed to cross the border into Gaza. So, if the trucks can’t come to you, go to the trucks. I mean, these are not great journeys. We’re talking relatively short distances. Everybody keeps talking about helping the Palestinians, how about the Palestinians helping themselves. How about the Palestinians getting up off their asses, and going to the border where the food is? Sure, they’ll be taking a chance on their own terrorist organization, Hamas, killing them while they are marching to save their children? Yes, there will be danger in going against Hamas but there is more danger in doing nothing and waiting for the bombs. How about the Palestinians recognizing the fact that it was Hamas, not Israel that started this war, that fought it like savages, filling the streets with the bodies of Israeli babies, and that is using their own kids as human shields, all in violation of the Geneva Convention.

So, what about the PLO point of view. Husam Zumlot PLO Ambassador to England and formerly to the USA appeared on Face the Nation and seemed to be set on proving that the Palestinian people were nothing but a bunch of raving fanatics. The first thing he did was deny the Hamas attack and methodology, refusing to condemn either. From there the whole interview went downhill when he attempted to establish that the only way to avoid embarrassing questions was to steam roll the discussion and not allow the interviewer to get a word in edgewise. For a guy who has had a series of important posts he seemed completely without logic or the ability to actually discuss any subject. All he could do was declaim. He had no backup or factual reasoning for any of his positions. This left the Palestinian cause without a functioning spokesman and all their arguments out in the cold.
Another Palestinian spokesman Nassar al- Kidwa, former Palestinian Administrator was interviewed by Fareed Zacharia, and he was no better. These guys seem to think that the international audience is as gullible as their own constituents and will just buy any bullshit they invent. The result is, they don’t even try to make logical, reasonable arguments and everything they say lays an egg.

Steve Kornacki, who has made a living frenetically interpreting political polls for NBC was out trying to make sense of the 2024 election a full year before it happens. Good luck. Maybe he should have waited until after the elections on Tuesday. The fact is the GOP , which outpolled the Democrats on a large sale in Steve’s polls got its brains beat out in the limited election but even as a sample it was significant, and it pretty much buried the polling that preceded it.

And speaking of elections, the GOP got together to debate the choice of candidate for the 2024 election on Wednesday night. Only problem was that the leading candidate wasn’t there. Yeah, Donald the Crook has been too busy trying to stay out of jail to make an appearance. After going through a few of these things it’s pretty clear by now that Nikki Haley and Chris Christie are the only candidates that actually have a clue about how to run a government. DeSantis has already proven his uselessness in the way he’s run Florida, which he is busy handing over to the crocs.
Tim Scott, who is a very pleasant man, runs aground every time the questions get more complicated than name, rank, and serial number, and Ramaswamy appears to be kind of bright, but he’s completely out of his mind.
Whether any of them can spell their name or not, is completely irrelevant unless Donald Trump is on the stage with them, and he isn’t.
The fact that he isn’t because he’s on trial in various venues on charges that could put him away for several lifetimes, seems to have no effect on his backers. That’s puzzling, because aside from anything a President actually gets done while in office, one of his principal functions is as a figurehead and that’s where Trump really fails. I mean, even if you’re a drug addicted alcoholic with a working still out on the back forty, you want someone in the White House to point to as inspiration for your kids. Well, believe me, Trump ain’t it. Not unless you’re aiming for that kid to grow up to be a serial killer. That’s what I don’t get. The MAGA crowd runs around praising God, making believe they know the difference between right and wrong and trying to convince the world that their word means something, but they are willing to follow a sleaze bag who is a self-admitted crook, a devoted liar, and a traitorous sociopath. He’s a degenerate that fucks hookers when his wife is pregnant, molests teenagers at beauty contests he sponsors, and makes a fool of himself with foreign leaders who are using him to attack our country.
After observing him for years, I have been unable to find him in possession of even a single redeeming social value. He cheats in business, steals from his customers, doesn’t pay his workers, defines the labels of racist and bully, and has managed to stay out of jail only by pleading charges down from felonies to misdemeanors. He’s lied about his wealth and made questionable comments about his daughter’s appearance, but still, they vote for him, or at least say they will.
He’s lost or caused the Republicans, to lose every election in the last seven years and he even lost the 2016 popular vote, being saved by that scandalous enemy of democracy, the Electoral College.
But he is the absolute choice of the Christian Right, the same hypocrites who are holding a bible in one hand while trying to grope their teenaged daughter’s best friend with the other. You want to know why this country’s in such a mess. Look no further my friends, look no further.
