The Republicans have blocked much needed funding for the war in Ukraine tying it to the need for more border control financing. But they already have over 20 billion for border control. If Biden had been able to begin his Presidency with a controlled border there wouldn’t be any problems now. But Trump left chaos, and it has taken longer than expected to patch it up. There’s still work to do, a massive amount, and the sooner we get to it the better. We have to add to the border patrol, add hearing officers, provide more court space, and create livable quarters for those awaiting hearings. The current policy of just turning those people loose on the streets is ridiculous. If you keep them, you must take care of them.
Mexico has failed to do its share, by allowing immigrants to cross their country. They know they aren’t going to stay, and that’s why they allow it. We can stop that by stopping all immigration at the southern border and forcing immigrants that try to enter illegally from Mexico to go back to Mexico and if that means actually building Trump’s wall, then we should build it.
I don’t know what the criteria for entry as a refugee is, but it should be considered at all our borders, and hearing stations should be set up so that potential immigrants can have their cases heard, adjudicated immediately and allowed entry or returned to the country from which they came, on the spot.

Some clown who writes on the Internet did a story the other day about how DeSantis won the GOP debate the other night. Anyone, who watched the debate, knows unequivocally that Chris Christie won, and it wasn’t even close, especially when you consider that the three “makeup queens” that sat on the panel shorted his inclusion at every opportunity. Yes, there is little chance of Christie actually being nominated. He lost when he decided to call out Trump for the criminal degenerate that he is, but somewhere on that stage we needed to hear the truth, and instead we got the three stooges telling us how they are better than Trump but failing to tell us why. It’s obvious that the other three occupants of that stage are running for vice-president on the Trump ticket. Christie? He’s not really running; he’s just trying to make the point that Donald Trump is not fit to be President of the United States. He proved that last time when the electoral college handed him a victory over the majority of American voters.

Last week, the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, came out in defense of the thugs that attacked the capitol on Jan 6 in a failed attempt to stop the orderly transition of power in our government. That’s no surprise. He’s been repeating Trump’s “The election was rigged,” nonsense since Trump started it. He was supported by GOP Representative Barry Loudermilk of Georgia. It seems Barry is involved with the release of the footage of the traitors who rioted on the Capitol steps. He hasn’t done much releasing so far because he’s waiting for the faces of these criminals to be blurred on the film. He claims it’s so none of those who are innocent will be accused, but that’s all bullshit. It’s like trying to find an innocent man in hell. The reality is, he doesn’t want any more of these traitors to be revealed to the authorities because he’s afraid they’ll squeal to avoid prosecution. That’s a hell of a position for the Speaker of the House to be taking, but that’s just where the GOP is.
It seems very clear that the Republican Party has permanently abandoned its responsibility to govern and has substituted a desire to advance it members and make them financially secure.

New charges were preferred against Hunter Biden this week. No more evidence of additional crimes has been brought to the fore than was presented against him in his previous arraignment in which he pled innocent to a couple of low-level misdemeanors, but this time the charges had some serious weight. I’m the last guy to ever say Hunter is a good guy, but Jesus Christ, how about grasping hold of reality. Special prosecutor David Weiss has levied 9 tax related charges against him, and some are pretty serious.
The question must be asked, why doesn’t Attorney General Merrick Garland grow a pair and squash this clown and his obvious attempt to do to Biden what Trump keeps whining they are trying to do to him.
The reality is that the more hack GOP prosecutors go after Biden in what is obviously a political prosecution, the worst Trump’s whining about being politically prosecuted looks. I mean, Trump did all the stuff he’s accused of. Hell, he admitted to most of it himself. He even encouraged the prosecutions because he thinks they willl help him get elected and then he can squash the results because he will be the President. Here was the poor political victim being prosecuted by the dangerous state. The only trouble is that he did all the stuff he’s accused of right out in the open so it will be a snap for Jack Smith and the other prosecutors to prove him guilty. The only question is, will the guilty verdict happen before he gets a chance to be elected.
The only snag to the trip behind bars may be that one juror who turns out to be a hidden Trump fan, one who doesn’t care about guilt or innocence and who ignores all the proof, the way the Republican Party did at Trump’s impeachments. Prosecutors do a pretty good job of investigating potential jurors but there’s always a slim chance that one bad one slips through. *****
There were huge rallies this week up in Michigan by Muslim/Americans over the need for a cease fire in Gaza, and while the Muslim leaders like Congresswoman Rashida Talib and the Muslim mayor of Dearborn, Abdulla Hammoud made strong pleas, neither made logical ones.
Everyone wants to see the civilian residents of Gaza delivered safely from the bombing and fighting, but most would also like to see Hamas defeated and their threat eliminated. That’s the part the Muslim agitators seem to fail to recognize. They obviously don’t care if Hamas is freed to repeat their horrific invasion of Israel because those killed, raped, and tortured were only Jews.
Tony Blinken made it crystal clear in his ABC interview that the goals of the Muslim community could be immediately achieved if Hamas just surrendered. Then the IDF wouldn’t have to kill any more civilians in the pursuit of these inhuman monsters. But the Muslim community and their supporters don’t want to hear this because Hamas did exactly what they, given the opportunity, would do if they had the stones.
Michigan Muslims speak to not voting for Biden in the next election because of his actions in this conflict but given the same circumstances, even a degenerate like Trump would have made the same decisions because it’s the only one to make.
Hamas did the wrong thing. All the evil that followed flowed from that. The only solution is to defeat and eliminate Hamas. Th faster that is accomplished the better for Jews, Muslims, and the rest of us. That’s the bottom line.
